Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance

Dr. Barb Jacobs was absolutely the best! This was my second time bring my dogs to East Brainerd Animal Hospital for their annual checkup. I'm so happy I ended up getting Dr. Jacobs. She is thorough, she made me feel like family and spent a lot of time with my dogs and answering any questions I had. I will be requesting her in the future, made me feel like a valued customer. The ladies at the front are great too, they gave my girls lots of love.

We took our new kitten to see Dr. Neal and he was amazing! He seemed genuinely happy and excited to see her and treat her. He made her feel so comfortable even when she was jumpy getting vaccinated. Thank you for showing love to my sweet baby ❤️

I have been going to East Brainerd Animal Hospital for four years. My Vet is Dr. Barb Jacobs, and she is first class! She is truly compassionate and educated about everything I needed to find out about, and she takes ALL THE TIME you need to get answers. She's thorough and makes you feel like she and her staff are family. The staff (front desk and techs) are a cut above the rest. The techs are so gentle and compassionate. When our 14-year-old Labrador Simon was diagnosed with diabetes and kidney failure he had to be on intravenous fluids twice a day. The techs trained me how to do this as I was very nervous. My yellow Lab is gone now, and we have a 12-week-old puppy who had his first visit this past week. Again, very good visit!! Here is one of the reasons why they are so good and compassionate. As I was checking out with my puppy Brody, a technician who helped me with Simon my yellow who is now gone, remembered my voice after not going there for six months and came out to see the new pup and immediately said she really missed Simon and the way he carried his leash in his mouth and came up and down the ramp to my car. I MEAN. . .HOW SPECIAL IS THAT FOR HER TO REMEMBER!!!!! The staff at East Brainerd Animal Hospital truly are the best and they are like family! 20++++

Thank you for the donation to UT College of Veterinary Medicine in honor of our sweet dog Wyatt who passed away a few months ago. We appreciate the care Wyatt received by your office for years. We miss him so much and appreciate how you helped us with his transition across the rainbow bridge. The gift in his memory shows the care you have for your patients and their families. Thank you.

I highly recommend East Brainerd Animal Hospital for your pet’s needs. All of the vets are excellent and I have found them to be reasonable in their approach to treating my dogs and cats with their various issues. I have had experiences in the past with other vets who would try to alarm me - urging me to over-treat a health condition so that I would spend more money and unnecessarily stress my pet. The vets at EBAH take a moderate and measured approach. I appreciate their concern for my dogs and cats, their knowledge, and their respect for me.
