How to Save on Veterinary Costs at VCA Keizer Veterinary Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

This place was the ONLY place that would take in my cat, who had been attacked by 2 pits and was in seriously critical condition, without me having to pay anything up front. Another vet, I won't name names, took him in, but wouldn't do anything for him NOR give him back until i paid $50! I did end up taking him anyways, but also paid soon afterwards. The situation was just very time sensitive! He ended up passing due to the trauma...:( But I still am very grateful for their effort

All very nice and helpful staff, doctors, techs, and able to work us in on short notice for some needed lab work and even gracious when late! They were surprisingly taking new patients when we needed one on the quick and were not pushed out several weeks or even months. My dog was suddenly diagnosed with a life long condition, Addison’s Disease, at a previous vet with one option for treatment and they were able to give us lots of options and costs to manage. We are extremely appreciative and don’t mind making the occasional 40 min drive north. Previous techs at last vet requested we sedate our dog prior to visits due to him being too stressed which surprised me. So we did. He has now been here a couple of times with nail trims and blood work and was told he was on his best behavior and they didn’t understand the request for sedation before hand from last place. My 100 pound baby and I are happy here.

The staff is extremely friendly. They clearly love animals. They did an excellent job of making my anxious dog comfortable and were even able to trim his nails which is something I can't even do. The only reason for the 4 Star instead of 5 is because of the new electronic record. I was the first getting a quote for surgery so that took them awhile to figure out. They also didn't have the next months schedule templated (so nothing past 2 weeks and minimal openings). Check out took a very long time because of this.

It has become very apparent over the years they have steadily required more testing and procedures that require billing. I would not recommend.
