How to Save Money at All Pets Veterinary Hospital

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I can’t rave enough about AllPets!! We adopted a rescue puppy in December and a few days later found her limping. I called All Pets having never used them before and asked if we could move our new puppy appointment up a couple of weeks. They got her in the same day I called. It was a very scary time for us but every veterinarian, nurse, and staff member we came across was so kind, knowledgeable, and compassionate and have continued to be. They also texted us after every appointment with our puppy asking how she was doing and the staff remembered her at every visit! Since she’s gotten bigger now, I finally booked wellness appointments for our other two babies and they were even able to get us in the next day just for those. Our other two babies are timid around most people they come across and they loved the staff at All Pets! The Veterinarian even remembered, mentioned, and asked how our sweet puppy is doing while we were there! Seriously, I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my babies. Highly recommend!! I recently moved to Stillwater, so I had not established a relationship with a vet yet. I went on vacation and one morning the pet sitter called to say one of our cats didn’t seem himself. I called All pets, she rushed him in for emergency and they took amazing care of him. He unfortunately had to stay with them until we got home, but the called me every day to give me updates on his status. Within 24 hours he was better, more playful and by the second day, he was his usual, full of personality self. I just called to get him an checkup/shots appointment and they can get me in on Monday. They were so friendly and excited to see him again. It was hard to have an emergency pop up when your so far away, but All Pets helped keep me calm and I was able to still enjoy the last few days of our vacation, knowing her was safe and taken well care of… also our pet sitter is the absolute best..

My poor pug-chi got her eye knocked right out of head because in excitement she ran between my larger dogs legs who was also jumping around in excitement and he came down and landed on her. I frantically called All Pets and they took us right in and fixed her right up. They were so kind, compassionate, and reassuring. By far the best vet experience I have ever had. I won't name our previous vet but first and foremost money was on their mind. So needless to say, I'd like to change my pets to All Pet!

Amazing vet care team that truly cares. Their front desk team is always so helpful and kind, the vet techs are outstanding, and the veterenarians are knowledgeable, understanding, and clearly take care of their patients and team. I have been taking my pets here for years and have only ever had good experiences. My dogs love coming to see them too and that's the most important to me :)

All Pets is the best veterinary you can find (specially in Stillwater). Doctor Slater's experience it is just comparable with her warm, patience and welcoming heart. All the staff is friendly, respectful and always ready to help. For me All Pets is like a big family, they will try to do everything they can to help you with your needs. They will always go the extra mile your your pets. Their prices are super good, and for those who need it they have payment plans, which is good if you don't have your pets insured. And... They have different specials every month. I only have good things to say about All Pets. They have been great with my Bengals and pomeranian. They also offer boarding, with excellent quality and price. They are great with all kind of animals, from the smaller one to the big ones.
