How to Save Money at Country Corner Animal Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I have gone to this practice for 30 years, first with my family and our family pets and now with my own crew. Despite how busy they are, the front staff is always willing to listen to my concerns, communicate with the vets on my behalf and are very empathetic! The vets and the techs are very communicative and willing to problem solve what works best for me financially and what is best for my pets. I will never go to another clinic!

Rude front desk staff! Refused to leave a message for the Vets for me, and the vets own the practice! What secretary is allowed to say no about leaving a message for the owner of a business?! Unbelievable! I see the positive reviews, but I don’t know if they are just nice to people that they know and are family or close friends, Because I know I’m not the only one they have been rude to. There are five other reviews on here that talk about the rude secretaries. And I see that the one commented on my review and said I was the one that was rude, but she is saying that because I called her out on how rude she was talking to me. I received a letter that said “as per our conversation”, and was signed by the vet, even though I was never allowed to talk to the vet about the issues. Sad that both vets and the vet techs are wonderful and the price is great compared to others, but the vets allow this mismanagement and Will not get back To a client to hear their experiences. Two different times the same secretary tried to push me into taking my cat to an emergency vet, When he was not in an Emergency. I never said he was in an emergency or asked for emergency services or scheduling. I have proof that one of the times my cat had a UTI , And the other time he was Constipated. I really think the guy just didn’t want to schedule me, because I had to push him to schedule me, And they had never even seen my cat before. There’s another review on here that says that it didn’t sound like the secretaries wanted to schedule the person, and that’s exactly what I got , when I had never even been there before. The first thing I said was that I was looking into euthanasia for my cat, and another secretary asked me a couple of questions and when I was explaining, she said what do you need from me because I have someone else on the other line. Not very compassionate when I’m calling and already upset about needing to put my pet down. The other lady is just very rude in how she says things to you, and she doesn’t seem to realize it though the reviews here show me that it’s not just about me. Today I called to say I couldn’t catch my cat for the appointment and she said OH, weeell… that’s an extended appointment so there might be a fee. And I said I didn’t know anything about an extended appointment or that there was a late fee, and she said the late fee is in all the paperwork and all over the website, and I just looked on the website and I see nothing about it. Maybe it was under the line tabs, but when I click on those they don’t work. It’s not about the fee, but about how she talked to me several times. It’s very common for people to not be able to catch cats for an appointment. Some run from you when they know you’re trying to get them for the vet. She also hung up on me and when I called back and asked if she could leave a message for one of the vets to call me she said no, I’m not gonna have one of them call you for this, And if you’re unhappy here, maybe you should go back to the other place you were going, then hung up on me again. Beware, because they could cost you thousands of dollars letting their secretary, who has never seen your cat, give you the advice to take your cat to an emergency vet, when they might just have a UTI or be constipated.

I would like to thank everyone for their kindness and compassion to me when I had to put down my 20 year old fur baby on May 9,2025. That was one of the hardest, most heartbreaking I've had to do. You gave me all the time I wanted with her and I cannot express how grateful I am to all of you. And thank you so much for the lovely card you sent me. Shows how much you care. Dr.Kelsie you are wonderful! Thank you for taking good care of Barney. I really appreciate it and you.

This is honestly the best vet I've ever been to. Dr Gerber is a saint and helped us with our dog that had a cancerous tumor for a reasonable price when other places quoted us an exorbitant amount we couldn't afford. Thank you!
