How to Save Money at North Royalton Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

The staff took excellent care of our dog Lucy up until the very end. She had an emergency causing her to lose feeling and control of her hind legs and bodily functions at only three years old. Thank you guys so much for making her last moments happy and for being so supportive during such a rough time for our family ❤️🐾

I was only at North Royalton Animal Hospital one time. Our beloved little chihuahua of 14 years was not doing well. We had taken her to our normal vet on Wednesday and was told by our vet that she was not doing well and she could" drop dead" at any minute. Needless to say I was not going to have this person take care of our furbaby. On Thursday, it was obvious that our baby was not improving with the medication and we took her to North Royalton Animal Hospital. The staff there was amazing and genuine. Dr. Travis and Destiny were wonderful. They treated us with so much understanding and support. Totally opposite of the other experience. We did have to put our precious girl to sleep which was devastating, but Dr. Travis and Destiny remained there to support us and give us all the time we needed. A few days later this wonderful gift came to my door. Our baby's paw prints, some of her fur for a keepsake, the flowers and a beautiful handwritten note from Dr. Travis. Just meant the world to us. Thank you again, Dr. Travis and Destiny for taking such wonderful care of our baby. I would also like to thank Judy at the desk for her kindness on the phone. She was very empathetic and understanding when I needed it. Thanks again.. We did receive our baby's ashes in a beautiful wooden box with her name engraved on it. Brought tears to our eyes.

The staff took amazing care of our cat Toby, we unfortunately had to put him down last night at only four years old. When we went to pick him up, they put him in a box with a blanket and pillow as he held onto flowers. Very appreciative of the staff here, thank you guys! I would also like to add that they took our sweet meow meows fur sample and paw prints for us which was very thoughtful. I never would have thought to ask about this. Keep it up, NRAH!

Staff was awesome. My dog had an emergency over Labor Day weekend and needed a recheck at a vet a few days after. This place got my fur baby in asap. Everyone was so kind and nice. The vet answered any and all questions. They even made the go home instructions very clear and understandable. I will be bringing my dog here from now on.

We just started bringing our dog here and they are excellent. He was going to VCA, a bunch of hacks they were over there. Here at north royalton animal hospital our dog was cared for as they would have cared for their own pet i truly feel. They are experts in high anxiety dogs which our hound is, and have a side entrance where just us and our dog can wait thus reducing our dogs anxiety. They were transparent in pricing, and quoted up front so no major surprises upon pick up. Our dog was not over drugged here with sedative, they used as much as they needed to get the job done to keep our hound and staff safe, but not enough to take down a rhino. Dr Wood herself then called after his exam to talk to us about our dog, VCA veternarians never called, only assistants. To hear directly from the vet is very nice, as well as extremely nice, clean facility and lovely staff. Pricing is in line with every other pet clinic. I cant say enough good about our new forever pet clinic, and thank you to Dr Wood and her great staff who is also very knowledgable for caring for our fur baby!
