How to Save Money at VIP Petcare Vaccination Clinic

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I brought in my 9 year old husky back in July because she was having accidents more than usual. They tested her urine, fecal and bloodwork. It wasn’t until 2 entire months later at my regular full service vet, that I was told the results from VIP’s urinalysis showed a bladder infection. VIP never contacted me or told me anything other than everything was normal with her tests. My dog suffered for 2 whole months thanks to this place. Please take my advice and take your pets to a full service vet. The prices aren’t much different and it’s ALOT safer. I was a regular customer here until now. I will never bring any of my animals back here again.

Fantastic, caring staff. They are up front about what they can and cannot do for your pet. Not just out to get your money. Speaking of, their prices are PHENOMENAL! Everybody should get their vaccines and labs done here, you'll save a chunk of change! Specifically regarding the Lyndhurst OH VIP Pet Care.

I have used the VIP Petcare service for my two dogs for years. My frustration is a employee Melissa Dennis. I left after being told my bill receipt when arrive via email. I had a coupon for 25% off of pet packages per pet. What I was discounted was only 25% for one dog. I immediately went back to store and commented to her about the error. She immediately stated "I cannot help you, you will have to call this number" The attitude I received verbally, rolling of the eyes etc was unbelievable. I didn't once raise my voice but did state you know what's upsetting about all this is you never once said sorry for the inconvenience. I just wanted a apology. My second visit to correct this in the store took 1.5 hours with me speaking on the phone so the correct charges / discount could be made. The solution I'm told by phone rep is to have each animal billed separately and the discount would then be applied appropriately. I shared this with Melissa forbfuture reference and it fell on deaf ears and more attitude.... and still no apology. Terrible customer service unfortunately from her. I'm going out of my way to post this only because not once did she ever apologize for the inconvenience. As a whole I usually get good value for their services Eric Raymond

The moment I got there I saw all kinds of signs on the door and windows I read most of them. One particular sign did instruct yo to scan a QR code to make an appt or join waitlist. I misinterpreted that at first thinking it meant join a waitlist for a future appt so I did not scan the code as it was my understanding that walk-ins were welcome. When I saw another customer left I politely knocked so that I could be serviced as this was my first time here and didn’t know how it worked. A lady came out and I told her I was there so my pup could get a rabies vaccine. She said ok did you scan the the code I said I’m sorry I thought that was for making future appts so in a very condescending tone she takes her pen and points to the words on the sign while reading “if you want to join the waitlist OR make an appt” shocked by her demeanor I told her ok and scanned the code. After inputting my info she came back out with an iPad asking me about my dog and my personal info, while asking me these questions my dog was barking because he gets anxiety when strangers approach me. I understand he’s barking so I’m speaking loud enough in my opinion where she can here she stops and with an attitude says “I can’t hear you with him barking like that” I said I’m sorry do you not hear barking all day here at work? I’m speaking up as best I can before my tone reaches just flat out yelling! After that I was over her attitude and fed up. She walks away again and when she comes back she says I can come back. I pick up my shih tzu headed thru the door she walked in and she just lets the door close! By then I’m angry because I’ve done nothing to be disrespected. Upon entering I see another woman standing with her arms folded and I ask her if she is the vet she says yes and I immediately voiced my concerns with her assistants attitude and the less than welcoming environment! The assistant says the sign is their policy and my reply was it can be your policy my issue is your tone and nasty attitude as if I’m incompetent. That’s not proper customer service. Moving on, the vet pushed on my pups belly a few times before administering the vaccine then we were done. How I was charged for a physical exam is beyond me as she did not exam anything! Attached are photos of the paperwork, you charge for this exam just to not do it I don’t think so! And the assistant spelled everything that I spelled out for her wrong!! Put a false weight and false breed of my dog. I’ll be calling customer service as well

I think it is terrible that the company is shutting this service down! The vet and vet tech have always been outstanding. This was an affordable way to keep our animals up to date on vaccines each year!
