How to Save Money at Creature Comforts Veterinary Center
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Dr. Libby is the MOST amazing person and vet. I have been with her for 4 years, since my poodle was just a puppy and he passed away yesterday. He was diagnosed with a pancreatic disease in September and it took him WAY too fast. During the whole experience she was nothing BUT caring, kind, compassionate, mindful, communicative and loving. She loves everyone’s animals like her own and no one could want better care for them than what she will provide. I will NEVER take any of my babies anywhere else. She was the most amazing person all the way until the end with him. ♥️

There is nobody better! I had a huge accident yesterday and they came to the rescue. They were prompt, courteous, thoughtful and got my pup in quickly to help! I have never met anyone with more compassion for animals than every single lady at this vet. I highly recommend. I would never take my dogs anywhere else!

I believe I have been a customer for 12+ years! We were going to Dr. Libby at the former West Fair Ave location and now go to the "new" location close to Coonpath and Rt 33. Dr. Libby is a stellar Vet who has an amazing ability to connect with fur babies of all kinds! She is clearly intelligent and decisive which builds confidence and reduces anxiety and worry immediately! I would add that she also has an exceptional ability to work with rescues that have a variety of issues and mixture of breeds. Not even kidding. All of this is on top of her medical expertise and the ability to explain to those of us with zero medical knowledge. I have huge levels of gratitude for Dr. Libby and her entire staff from my old Gunner, my Bentley and me! ♥️♥️♥️ Update: Bentley had an appointment with the new Vet who has joined this business. Dr. Jefferson is great. He really took extra care helping me navigate all the issues of new allergies and options for some non-cancerous lumps. By the time we got done, everything was addressed and I had a clear path forward. We are back on the hiking trails and happy!!

You will not find a better Dr anywhere else🌟 Dr. Kinsel is without a doubt the BEST!!! She provides the most genuine, compassionate and knowledgeable care this world has to offer. After my first ever visit with her 15 years ago, I knew right then I would be a lifetime client. She truly has a gift. I live in Columbus with several vet clinics within walking distance of me, yet I continue to drive 45 minutes to see Dr. Kinsel. The prices are reasonable, the environment is 100% Fear Free and the professionalism of the staff is top notch.

You meet people that change your life and that is exactly what Dr. Libby did for us. I will never take my pets anywhere else. Dr. Libby save my dogs life. When my 120lb chocolate lab had a behavior issue, my previous vet suggest therapy and training. When this did not work, she suggest getting rid of the dog. I was devastated. I was referred to Dr. Libby as a last ditch effort to keep my beloved Rocko. BEST DECISION EVER! She is our angel. She got down on all fours, laid with him, assessed without caution and realized it was a medication issue rather than behavior. She switched up his meds, showed us how to be better pet parents and we have been going strong for 5 years. She continues to care for Rocko (and my other pets) with knowledge, compassion, and reason. She is the absolute best. I cannot say enough!
