How to Save Money at URvet Care Midtown Medical Center
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I will be forever grateful to Dr. U, Dr. Lopez, Dr. Revelas, Dr. Sikorski, Dr. Witter, and Dr. Shliselberg for saving Charlie’s life. Dr. U immediately recognized Charlie was having a diabetic emergency and went into action to save him. Everything was clearly explained and Charlie was so well taken care of. Everyone was so kind, caring, and helpful. Ashley took special care of Charlie and understood his personality. The front desk helped me figure out a great payment plan and now after four nights in their care, Charlie is home, happy, and healthy!

I got my little kitten today after I went to a horrible place that only care about money, dr witten was more than amaizing with us and also the lady in the front desk. I called really desperate looking for an urgent surgery, she was nice and helpful even taking with me in the phone before arriving. She took care of my cat and try to make the less damage possible. They even refund us half of the bill cause he didn’t need to stay the night. It was a mixing to find a place like this. Thank u team

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ URvet Care – Midtown Medical Center I truly cannot say enough good things about this hospital and the people who work here. They quite literally saved my dog’s life. During a time when I was very, very sick and struggling myself, they went so far above and beyond to make sure my dog was taken care of. They didn’t just do their job — they went the extra mile in a way I will never forget. The compassion, patience, and genuine care shown by the entire staff meant everything to me. I could not have asked for a better veterinary hospital. Every single person was amazing, kind, and truly invested in helping both my dog and me during a really difficult time. The manager and the CEO are incredible people — so kind, understanding, and hands-on. You can feel that this place is run with heart, integrity, and love for animals and their owners. I am beyond grateful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you did for us. I would recommend URvet Care Midtown 10 out of 10 without hesitation. Thank you, thank you, thank you. 💙🐾 Love Adriana Kelsey and Paris

This place is so great I even made a special email address for it. Just go here. Don't go anywhere else. Dr.. Shliselberg is extremely competent, knowledgeable and compassionate. She didn't pretend to care because she really cared, something that can’t be faked. She very forthrightly came up with a correct her diagnosis based on actual symptoms and didn’t ask for a million bullshit tests. She also didn’t play off my freak-out to charge more than necessary and in fact the practice gave me refund because the dog’s stay cost less than what they’d estimated. When the vet left the exam room and I had more questions, Amber Rivas, who brought my dog out, knew exactly what was going on, had obviously thought about it, and explained everything to me very thoroughly with humor and warmth.

It was my first time at URvet care. My 3 1/2-year-old maltipoo wasn’t feeling well. I called to schedule an appointment and the receptionist. Daniella was so accommodating caring nice and she told me to come in right away. I met with Madison, the medical assistant and she was so caring, gentle, and very warm with my dog and my dog was very very comfortable with with. Dr.Witter so caring, kind, and very thorough in the Examination. She knew exactly what was wrong with my dog. The people there are very very nice before they do anything they always go over and detail what they will be doing and an estimate which their price is very reasonable. I highly recommend taking your dog there just for wellness or an emergency. They are there 24 hours to help.🙏❤️🐶
