I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience with this veterinary dermatologist, Dr. Budgin!! After months of watching my poor cat suffer with relentless itching, overgrooming, and discomfort, we finally found real answers and real relief. From the very first visit, the team was thorough, compassionate, and incredibly knowledgeable. They took the time to explain every possible cause of my cat’s itching — from allergies to environmental triggers — and created a clear, step-by-step treatment plan. I especially appreciated how patient they were with all my questions. I never felt rushed or dismissed. Within weeks, we started seeing a huge improvement. The constant scratching decreased, the bald patches began to grow back, and most importantly, my cat seemed happy and comfortable again. It was such a relief to see her personality shine through instead of constant irritation. The staff is kind, organized, and truly cares about both pets and their owners. I cannot speak highly enough about Dr. Jeanne Budgin and her incredible team. I drove over an hour for my appointment, and from the moment I arrived, it was clear this place is something special. Our intake started right on time at 2 PM, which was already impressive. Tiffany, who did the intake, was so kind, patient, and attentive—she made both me and my high-anxiety dog Milo feel instantly at ease. New patients even receive a toy, and Milo, who usually hates the vet, loved his! Dr. Budgin is truly one of a kind. Her bedside manner is unmatched, and her genuine care for animals shines through in everything she does. She spent a full hour with us, listening to every concern, asking thoughtful questions, and never once making us feel rushed. Milo ended up needing an impromptu procedure, and Dr. Budgin and her staff made sure to fit us in and complete it in under two hours. The care he received was nothing short of excellent. Afterward, Dr. Budgin even took the time to sit with me and explain everything in detail—she’s warm, knowledgeable, and incredibly compassionate. I left feeling confident, reassured, and so thankful that Milo was in such good hands. This team went above and beyond. I had a great experience with this dermatologist! My cat was losing hair and very itchy for over a year. I tried everything. I went to the vet multiple times did blood tests, did food sensitivity checks, changed his litter, the works. I was feeling frustrated and my vet recommended I go see a dermatologist which led me to Hudson Valley Dermatology. After a check up, multiple blood tests, and over a year of frustration and itchiness, I quickly found out my cat had a severe dust allergy. Now that I can directly treat the issue, he is doing great.

My Frenchie developed an ear infection, and the drops my regular vet prescribed only made things worse. He ended up with a painful middle ear infection. After a stressful emergency vet visit and weeks of waiting for a dermatology consult, I was told he needed a full ear canal sweep—but with no real clarity or confidence from the doctors. It just didn’t sit right with me. Desperate for better care, I found Dr. Budgin. Even though her office is in Westchester, I hopped on the Metro North and walked to her clinic—and honestly, I would travel twice as far to see her. From the moment she stepped into the room, I felt a wave of relief. Her warmth, confidence, and kindness were immediate. You *just know* when you're in the hands of someone truly special. By this point, my poor pup was fed up—he was anxious, reactive, even tried to bite—which is so unlike him. I was horrified. But Dr. Budgin never flinched. She handled him with such grace and empathy, and continued the exam with a calm, reassuring presence that completely floored me. She went so far beyond what any vet has ever done for us. She told me she would consult with neurologists and then followed up with an incredibly detailed, thoughtful report outlining exactly what was going on, what our options were, and what to expect next. With her guidance and collaboration, we were able to avoid an expensive and invasive surgery. Today, my dog is back to his joyful, energetic self—pain-free and thriving. I almost never write reviews, but I insisted on writing this one. Dr. Budgin is truly in a league of her own. Compassionate, responsive, and unbelievably thorough—she’s everything you could hope for in a vet and more. I’m so deeply grateful to have found her. My dog is lucky to be her patient—and so am I. She is a rare gem. The best of the best.

My cat is often very frightened at the vet’s office and was treated with patience and TLC. The doctor also provided medication to help ease stress for the next visit. I appreciate this and feel confident that Buzzy is in good hands.
