How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Gotham Animal Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Experience

Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.

Emergency Care Procedures

It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.

Communication Preferences

Ask how the clinic communicates with pet parents, including updates, test results, and follow up questions.

Breed Specific Health Considerations

Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.

Trying to make an appointment with the doctor but he was very aggressive. I had questions about specific urine tests and using other vet’s records as a baseline. Last month, my dog just did a full checkup at another clinic. They told me that they must have their own checkup to fully understand how to treat my dog’s situation. I understand that vet’s have very specific protocols but he comes off very rude and condescending. When I called another veterinarian, they said the same thing as this vet. Luckily it was in a less intense/aggressive way. I will be bringing my pet to the other place. Writing this review in hopes that the doctor will speak nicely to future customers. We are not professionals and it’s not wrong for us to ask questions.

Gotham animal clinic is the best! They are so clear and detailed about the whole appointment and pricing, and they were so great with my cat. I’m a new cat owner and everyone was very kind and answered all of my questions. I really appreciate the care they showed me and my cat, highly recommend!! :)

Took my dog here for the first time today as a new patient, and I've never seen an animal clinic treat my dog so well! They went above and beyond to make sure he felt comfortable, and he was so happy and well behaved the entire time because of it! Dr. Weiner spent so much time with me explaining his methods and giving such helpful tips- he even got on the ground at my dogs level to give him treats and make him feel comfortable. Sonya and Lynn were lovely and made the experience so fun. I'll never go anywhere else now!

Everyone at Gotham Animal Clinic treated my dog and me wonderfully. We were squeezed in without an appointment, and the team took their time making sure that my pup left feeling healthy and happy. Their pricing was very reasonable and they don’t nickel and dime you. They really care about you and your little ones there. Highly recommend.

Ted has been Sprocket’s vet since 2011. She loves him and we regularly have to stop and say hi and get a treat. They always take good care of her and we are happy to have a trusted vet as we navigate our aging companion.
