How to Save Money at CNY Veterinary Services at Animal Kingdom

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

This vet used to be amazing back when Dr. Davis worked here. Ever since he retired though it has gone consistently downhill. Most of the time it's impossible to get any sort of call back from these guys regardless of the severity of your situation. If you have an emergency you think you'd be able to get in quickly but you'd be wrong. Regardless of what's going on they are almost always booked SIX WEEKS out. And on top of that they're now only open FOUR days a week. This has been going on for years and you think by now they'd have found a better way to book patients sooner. All they do though is tell you to go to an emergency vet that has no funding so even the slightest sort of treatment will leave you spending thousands of dollars and waiting for hours just to be seen. I've been with this vet for over 10 years but after everything that's happened I think it's time for me and this vet to part ways. Definitely going to be looking for another vet and I suggest anyone looking for one as well to avoid this one.

THANK GOD this place is closing. I’m a young adult in a two income household, my significant other is in college and funds are tight. We came in last week to check on one of my cats who has been having a consistent eye infection and hearing issues. The veterinarian comes in, basically just examined my cat physically and let me know that she’s “completely fine”. He found quite a bit of wax in her ears, did NOT clean it out, and told me the reason that she consistently stares at the ceiling and doesn’t respond regularly to auditory noises is because “she’s seeing things that I cannot see”. He also told me that her eye was great and did not seem aggravated. As the appointment is wrapping up, he tells me she’s due for a vaccine. I told him I’m on a tight budget and would rather wait until sometime the following week. He countered me and told me that the vaccine wouldn’t “up the cost too much”. I walked out of that place almost paying two hundred bucks with my mind blown away. Fast forward I’m sitting here at home and my cats eye is just completely swollen. I’m incredibly aggravated with the care that my animals have received here. This place has become nothing but a vaccination clinic.

Are the services that they provide a family and their pet is superb! They answer the phone quickly and are able to fit you in for emergencies. They are very responsive to your questions and your needs and take good care of your pets. They even did an exceptional job when our dog had an allergic reaction to a vaccination. Visit this location for great service for you and your pets.

I take my dogs to CNY for grooming because they are wonderful there. They usually can get me in for both dogs at the same time within the week that I call for an appointment. They offer all of the services of other groomers plus the groomer will notify you if there are any health concerns they they notice. The staff at the front desk are great to work with, very friendly. Recently I have had Becky as my groomer and she does a fantastic job. I had a dry skin allergy issue with one of my dogs and she said, no problem that she would use specific shampoo and conditioner for her to help with that. I noticed a difference right away. I highly recommend them for grooming.

Dr. Davis has been my vet for over the past 10 years and I wouldn't recommend anyone other then him or his staff. He is kind, gentle, thoughtful and most caring vet I've ever seen over the past 18 years. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't have got to spend almost 15 years with my princess Hathor. When she was 9 years old she went blind over night from a zero thyroid, which caused blindness do to her sugar to be over 700, if it wasnt for him being thorough by running numerous tests an helping me threw all the years of her special diabetic needs over the years Idk if I would have been able to do it with out all his support. He made sure I understood all the information I needed to during the last 5 years of her life an if it wasnt for him taking the time out to educate me on how to test her glucose, regulate her insulin intake so her sugar was always in a safe zone on her bad days I wouldn't been able to do it.
