How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Northwest Veterinary Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Experience

Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.

Emergency Care Procedures

It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.

Communication Preferences

Ask how the clinic communicates with pet parents, including updates, test results, and follow up questions.

Breed Specific Health Considerations

Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.

We absolutely love everyone at the NW Veterinary. They are great listeners and work with you for the best treatment for your pets. They breakdown everything ahead of time and work with you to come up with a plan that is comfortable for your budget as well. I really appreciated that, as vet services Can be expensive. We bring both of our huskies here and have been for the last three years. One of our huskies has very bad allergies and anxiety.

Recommended to me by a friend. This place is close by and everyone here including the veterinarian is sooooo nice. They care about my pets and recommend things without sales pressure like if u can’t afford it all but can come back the items are on the forms. Thanks for seeing my doggie on the quick! 🖤♥️

I was desperate to be seen by a vet due to an infection in my dogs mouth. I called all over town. No one answered their phones. Mind you I am established at 3 other vet offices in town and no one could see me. I was told to go to the ER where the wait was 8 hours just to get into the doors. I walked into this office and they graciously helped my dog. I was not established here. They normally don’t do walk ins and they helped me. Thank you for getting my boy on to the road to recovery. You all treated my boy and my exhausted self so well. I’m so grateful for them. Thank you

Thank you team and Dr.Sukhjeet Riar for saving our baby Roulette! We are very pleased and grateful for all the help .Also,Rebecca was very prompt in sending me paperwork for my insurance.

Riar and his staff are awful at their jobs and I wish I could give this business 0 stars. They have forgotten to send me home with meds for my dog, failed to educate me on at home care, they let my dog sit in her own urine while in a crate without realizing (I was the one who realized it when they brought my dog back in the room) and on multiple occasions have told me that my concerns are invalid. Some of my concerns lead to us finding out (through another reputable vet) that my dog had kidney stones. If you enjoy paying money for them to rush you out of the door in five minutes, while answering none of your questions, then this is the place for you!
