How to Save on Veterinary Costs at West Caldwell Animal Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Dr. Mock and Gale are a terrific team, and our experiences with my mom’s new puppy have been excellent. The puppy had an uneventful neutering and microchip placement. Expert care, thorough explanations, unhurried, and a clean clinic. I recommend without reservation. Thank you team! Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Very friendly and caring staff. I've been taking my dog to Dr Stanisci for years and she's always been very helpful and taken great care of him. Not the type of office that overcharges or pushes unnecessary purchases/visits on you either.

Dr. Mock is an amazing Vet. She is so caring and listens to all your concerns and questions during the visit. Dr. Mock took care of our Polish Lowland Sheepdog for 13 years. Bella had some medical issues and Dr. Mock always worked with us to make her comfortable. When it was her time to go Dr. Mock was amazing!!!! She gave us the time we needed to say goodbye and explained everything to us. 2 years later we got another pup and Dr. Mock was out first choice to be the new pups Vet. I highly recommend West Caldwell Animal for all your pets needs.

Took my dog to this establishment after she was shaking and not eating or drinking. It has become clear to me that this institution is a business first, and their only concern is the bill at the end. They charged us 250$ for a “vital check” which they said wouldn’t conclude what the problem was. After that, they told us they would have to run many additional tests costing hundreds of dollars. For instance, $260 for a simple blood test. To add on to this, this business prides itself on “emergency care” yet when you arrive you have to fill out a form and wait hours upon end. Also, employee service is so unprofessional and honestly disrespectful. A local resident and friend of ours also took her dog here because he was experiencing seizures. Upon trying to enter the building, employees screamed at her to wait outside while the dog was experiencing a seizure. So much for animal health and care. Covid is an excuse for everything at this business as many others. This establishment does not represent the values that animal care physicians and doctors should.

I have brought my animals to WCAH for more than 20 years. They are very competent, kind and professional. I have recommended them to many people and have always gotten great feedback. I have mostly seen Dr Mock and Dr Lee. They have been wonderful to my animals throughout their lives and have teared up with me when it was time to say goodbye. They are wonderful. The staff at the front desk are very compassionate and professional.
