How to Save on Veterinary Costs at South Brunswick Animal Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I’m not sure where to start to describe how much I love this office! Doctor Cotler is the sweetest doctor who genuinely loves animals any shape or kind. He really goes above and beyond. From something as simple as a scratch, to something very serious, you’re guaranteed to get the best care. He doesn’t pressure you into unnecessary procedures and I trust everything he tells me with my 2 fur babies. The office staff and vet techs are also so incredible and make you feel so welcome and taken care of every time. So grateful for them !!!

I've been taking my pets to SBAH for over 20 yrs. I've never had a bad experience. From the Drs themselves, the Vet Techs, & the front staff; I'm always met with compassion & understanding. Whether it's the first introduction & check up for my newest rescue OR😭the worst day ever when it's the end of my fur babies life, everyone on staff has been knowledgeable & do everything in their power to make the visit easier & less stressful for ALL OF US!

Every single staff member at this place has a heart of gold. I had a diabetic kitty and they took such a amazing care of him. The vets are all compassionate and kind people. They take their time with each patient and are sure to provide all options of treatment. I can thoroughly say that without their help, my kitty would have passed years ago due to his condition. With the help of SBAH, he held on and lived a happy and comfortable life. Years later, when it was finally time to let go, they were comforting and so so kind. I will forever be grateful to the veterinarians and staff of this place. I trust them completely with my pets. PS- my eldest kitty is 23 and thriving. And I definitely credit some of this to the SBAH. They examine her regularly, check blood etc, and provide her kidney supplements that help her quality of life. She’s as sassy and adorable as ever!

I brought my dog in due to ataxia and a mass I felt in her abdomen. Vet and tech claimed they felt no mass. Did bloodwork, gave fluids, prescibed Denamarin due to elevated liver enzymes and suggested I go to an emergency vet if things got worse. Suggested my dog got "into something" (she didn't). Tonight my dog was rushed to an emergency vet after seizing and urinating herself. The ER vet immediately felt the mass (and was disappointed at the medications this vet gave). After doing imaging, it was a metastasized tumor near her liver that bled and spread to her brain. My dog is now dead. My heart is broken and my bank account has taken a serious hit. Thanks for charging me $400 for...nothing.
