How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Petco Vaccination Clinic
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Don't visit this place. I had a 12 15 appointment. I showed up on time but they had a line waiting to be checked in. I waited in line as any person would. When it was my turn to be checked in, the lady at the front told me they could not help me because I was late for my appointment even though I waited to be checked in. I never expected a business that depends on customers would do such a thing. I completely understand if you are late for your appointment the spot can only be hold for a period of time but not attending someone that was on time is mind blowing. To top it off, there was no reasoning with her.

The vet and assistant were super nice! BUT the young woman at the check in tried to guilt and shame me for not going with a package she recommended which would have translated to a $300-400 expense. I appreciate the concern for my pet, but that’s not okay as everyone has their own situation and conditions.

I was quite disappointed by my Vetco experience, mainly because the physical exam is not real and the price of the vaccine was higher than expected. The vet took 2 seconds to listen to the heart of my pets and then immediately gave them the vaccine. I asked the vet to take a look at their teeth and gums but she refused, saying they are not a full-service vet. Yet, once I received the report, it was written that their mouth and teeth were examined. The report also included many other parameters that were not evaluated, such as heart rate, respiratory rate, nails, ears, and even temperature! I wonder how a vet can determine a pet's temperature without a thermometer! My second pet received the same report, with very few random changes in the numerical parameters. The exam is fake, takes only a few seconds. I now need to take my pets to the vet for their normal annual exam again. If I would have skipped Petco, I would have saved money, as the individual vaccines are cheaper at my regular vet. I paid $44 for each FVRCP shot (Feline 3 in 1), whereas I usually pay $28. The price difference is supposed to count towards the physical exam, but that was not properly done.
