How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Town & Country Veterinary Service

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Experience

Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.

Emergency Care Procedures

It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.

Communication Preferences

Dr. Kelson is not at this practice anymore and I will no longer recommend with the experiences I've had with Dr. Aromundo over the last year. Rude, disrespectful, dismissive and not helpful. If you don't want to see animals other than horses that's fine, but then don't allow people to make appointments for other services. Had an appointment scheduled for over a week and called today to cancel saying he decided he doesn't want to see calves anymore leaving us high and dry.

Dr. Kelson came immediately to care for my very sick sheep. Although typically addressing needs of high performance Equine I was incredibly impressed with her knowledge of farm animals as she quickly assessed and diagnosed the issue, saving my sheep's life. Two thumbs up to this professional, caring and very proficient doctor!

It started with a phone call to Caitlin inquiring about a prepurchase, and she was so caring and compassionate and helpful in setting things up. As well as dealing with me after to get all the need info for insurance , travel etc.. And Dr Kelson's guidance and expertise in the exam was extremely reassuring and confidence building and her tech even remembered the fecal I wanted included....lol I only wish I could use them all the time...

Awesome Vet! 5 Stars in my book! Very knowledgeable, professional, personable, and down to earth. Takes the time to explain the situation in complete detail. Dr. Kelsen is all this and then some!
