How to Save Money at Banfield Pet Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
Love the Brick Fed Ex location. Dr Kelly Odem the absolute best. Tabitha wonderful. Front desk staff always very friendly and helpful. They don't get annoyed when "my" little Fiona excit pees when we arrive.

This place BAN-FIELD BRICK KILLED my baby!!! She was an older dog and had a physical the same day. The vet gave paperwork & said she had typical aging but was overall a healthy dog!! I was given an ultimatum to give her the rabies vaccine or she would not be able to be seen for her possible UT!!! After that vaccine, her body started deteriorating instantly! I went back the next day with my baby clinging to life & BEGGED FOR HELP and was told if I didn't have thousands of dollars, they would not help me!! My baby tried to hang on. I syringe-fed her, massaged her, but she lost so much muscle mass, weight, and eventually, she left me!! I am heartbroken,💔💔💔💔💔💔 living with guilt, and I feel like a part of my heart died with her!! I am so sad, and after researching and realizing this franchise has a history of neglect, I feel so bad and like I failed my baby! I am writing this review as tears pour down my face and hoping others learn from my mistake!! TAKE YOUR DOG SOMEWHERE ELSE!! My baby went from an overall healthy dog to being able to see her ribs, spine, having eating problems, not being able to remember her favorite words, and major cognitive decline. Don't do it!! Save your baby!! Maybe this is how they treat patients with black owners or maybe they are not fit for the job after seeing how many times they've been sued and the legal problems BANFIELD is associated with!! All it takes is a simple google search & you can save your pet! Before and after pics showing how she deteriorated & no one helped me!!

All the doctor's and staff at the Brick Plaza Banfield Hospital have alsways taken great care of my Molly. Now that she is getting up in years her needs are expanding. The wellness plan has made it possible for me to give the care she needs. Last time she was there Dr.Dev went over her with a fine tooth comb, with bloodwork, xrays and a complete exam. She was kind enough to call me after 8pm on a Friday night to go over her xrays and tests results. I couldn't have asked for more.

I went in for my appointment with an emergency vet (you guys). I’ve never taken my dog there before. I make the appt and went there early for it since it was for 8:30. I get there and the girl who was at the desk that walked me back said I’d leave my dog for three hours and I said absolutely not. So she told me I can sit and I agreed to wait. The vet came in and we started to talk about my dogs bathroom routines. I told her he drinks a lot of water and pees a lot. He drinks out of a deli meat container which is small and just like us humans, if we drink a buch of water, we would Have to go pee too. The she made me feel like my dog drinks too much water and said it wasn’t normal for His age and that it could be a worst case scenario and to be prepared for it. She said I should get bloodwork and urinalysis to see what’s wrong with him. Utterly ridiculous because there was nothing wrong with him besides the two hot spots he had in his toes. The blood work alone costs $250. Such a rip off. Makes me never wanna go there again. They just want you to keep spending money. And then when the prescription for the anti biotics for my dog wasn’t called in at 9 am (when they said they would) I called back at 1 and asked for the name of the medicine that the vet had prescribed and she said there isn’t one there and she said sorry. I called back and got a different girl. I asked her the same question and she pulls it up in 5 seconds. I asked why was the medication for my dog was still not called in, and she said they typically leave messages for the pharmacy and that they go through them in order of who placed the messages. She then tells me she will call and have them send it through so I thanked her and we ended the call. Then I didn’t see any medication sent to my Walgreens AGAIN and at this point, I’m beyond annoyed. All of these Situations with the staff Felt very bad and seemed like they wanted me to spend more money on my dog than what was necessary. He gets allergies and sometimes needs medication to help with that. That’s all. I’ve seen him go through it before. I will never come here again. All I received was aggravation and in the end, yes, I got the three medications that will help him, but the road that lead to it was horrible for a business to be run like this.

Couldn't go to my regular banfield due to no openings. Went to a different location. They would not give us our dogs normal allergy medicine because I declined a $300 shot that was not needed. Then they prescribed a different antibiotic than usual that made our dog suffer for 3 days until we brought him to a Real vet!. They gave him a $30 shot and his regular allergy medicine,. He's feeling like a million bucks again
