How to Save on Veterinary Costs at VCA Amherst Animal Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Ended up taking my sweet Jackson to these guys in an emergency situation and they were incredibly kind to me and my pup! He bled all over the clinic and room, I felt terrible but they assured me it was okay. The Vet and tech were both so nice and the girl who answered the phone as I was almost in tears got me right in and taken care of. Jaxie and mom are so grateful for their care!

My dog is well taken care of when boarding him at VCA, and I know his best interests are their interests. A bit expensive but worth it for the care and compassion we received.

Dr. Danks best ever. The rest not so much. Terrible experience wish washy. One time something is covered under there pet club one time is not. Took my dogs in to have annual glands done. She told me $125.00. But 6 weeks earlier $69.00????

This is my first family, two dogs and a cat. I moved to Montana in October so our first appointment in November was quite the juggle. I had Artemis(the cat) in a bag, Athena(the puppy) in my arms and Atlas(big brown dog) on a leash. Dr Peretti checked them all out and gave everyone what they needed with ease. Athena had two more appointments that were just as soon and now everyone is up to date!
