How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Veterinary Emergency Group
Preventive care

Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Dr Fifer and team were wonderful and care was provided expeditiously from exam to x-rays to closed reduction under anesthesia. They got our Nina diagnosed and her dislocated hip put back in and we were back home in under five hrs. The open concept is comforting as they keep your pet with you as much as possible.

Our family had a great experience, at VEG in Woodbury this past weekend. Our 17 month old Cockapoo was having major GI issues with rapidly worsening symptoms. We actually visited the clinic 3 times, and all of the veterinarians, vet techs, and vet assistants were very compassionate, understanding, and patient. I appreciated the transparency of the fees and that we were credited for the overnight hospital 🏥 hours we didn’t end up needing. I also appreciated that I had the option to stay overnight with our puppy while he rested and received treatments. I really can’t say enough positive things about the folks here. I definitely recommend pet insurance because you never know when something may come up.

I have never ever experienced care as professional and compassionate as we did at VEG. I’ve wanted to write this for the last couple weeks but didn’t know how to word it. On the worst morning of our lives, the actions and words of everyone on his care team were above and beyond. I work in emergency medicine and was blown away. They were waiting at the door with their team ready to stabilize him. They didn’t bring up the financial aspect until he was stabilized, and I was concerned they were going to require pay before caring him because I’ve never been in an animal emergency scenario. Every step of the way they were efficient in their critical care while still involving and comforting us. It was the perfect balance and I kept thinking how crucial that is for pet parents without medical knowledge. The provider worked fast and was clearly well trained and educated. Our boy began getting anxious after receiving some medicine and instead of saying he might try to bite, the nurse told the doctor “I think he might be a little naughty soon” as a way to communicate he needed something to calm him down. When he was in his imaging she asked for some meds to “keep him and them safe”. The words they chose when speaking in front of us were intentional and respectful and meant the world to us. The doctor was straight forward about our boy’s outlook while also being nonjudgmental and made it clear they supported whatever decision we made. When we ended up choosing to help him cross over they were patient and caring from beginning to end. The nurse spent quite a bit of time doing paw and nose prints after he passed and was very thorough explaining the postmortem process. They helped wrap him in a blanket so I could hold him easier. They assured me he would be wrapped in the blanket while he was waiting to he picked up for cremation when I was irrationally concerned he would get cold. I am writing this long review because I want others to understand how exceptional and above and beyond VEG is. They could not be running the whole “open concept” thing any better and am so happy there is a care option like this for families. Every day those in animal emergency medicine care for families who have to choose euthanasia in acute scenarios because a $10,000 surgery isn’t an option and I can’t imagine the toll it must take on them, but it never showed. If it isn’t obvious I 1000% recommend VEG. ❤️

We had the best care, I highly recommend this place. The staff was amazing, they treated us like family and not just another patient being seen. The facility was exceptionally clean, warm and inviting. While we waited to be seen there were blankets, drinks and snacks. Our technicians who assisted with the doctor were so good. I highly recommend this place.. they truly care about each and every patient that comes through that door. Writing this bring tears to my eyes and they also adjusted my price after I paid. They refunded me, what they didn’t actually need to use. This place is really good. If you are contemplating on going here, this place You will get top- notch care. They won’t make you wait for hours and hours and hours to be seen.

This place truly left my husband and me speechless and deeply moved. Not only did they do an incredible job taking care of our sweet Reggie, but they also showed such compassion and care toward us during a very difficult time. Their words of encouragement and kindness went far beyond what we ever expected. We were especially touched to receive a beautiful card filled with thoughtful and comforting messages after the loss of our baby. It meant the world to us. Thank you to the entire Woodbury Team. You made a lasting impression on our family. We know your work can be challenging, but we are so grateful that it never affects the warmth and dedication you all continue to show. The Kary Family.
