How to Save Money at BluePearl Pet Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

We had an outstanding experience at Blue Pearl! They are so compassionate, kind, and caring with the animals and their owners. They explain everything so well and answer all of your questions. I am so glad that we decided to go straight to Blue Pearl to have her cardiology work up done. Thank you all for being so kind to Willow.

The staff was very knowledgeable and caring. I visited the hospital with my dog over the weekend and service was excellent. I didn't have to wait, they attended to my baby immediately. Rocky my German shepherd had to have immediate surgery and stay in the hospital for 3 days. The doctor called me every day explaining every step and answering all my questions. That was followed by photos with the update twice a day which I appreciated. I value everything they did, we receive excellent service.

Absolutely beyond impressed with my experience here at Blue Pearl. From ease of scheduling a last minute evening appointment, to checking in up front, I am very impressed after my first experience here. I can’t say enough great things about the vet tech. AND Dr. Hilton here. Although my dog, Ikon, his issues were minor, Dr. Hilton made me feel heard & valued. She was empathetic, thorough, & knowledgeable, but genuinely a great human being. I feel like this facility hit the absolute jackpot with her, & so do all the animals & their families that she helps. She was helpful & so honest & did not over do it with billing/overcharging. It really made me feel good to have her support & guidance. Thank you team!! -Ikon’s Mom, Lindsay!

I took my dog viper here the vet could not diagnose the problem, he was very sick with a fever the vet said it was kidney disease. We took him to blue pearl and the wait for the ultra sound was very long it was all worth it. We brought him exactly at 8 AM to wait and the nurse was extremely sweet. Loved to pet my baby. She told me they had him out more to play then he spent in his kennel because they all loved him so much. He came back very happy wagging his tail. After everything we went through at the vet blue pearl actually found out what was wrong with our baby. The vet gave us med and told us “see if these work in a couple days” not even knowing what was wrong. We told blue pearl that and they made it there goal to find out what my baby needed to get better they gave him a bed and everything to lay on to make sure he was comfortable. He came home with actually knowing what was wrong and that he will make it

Our dog started showing signs of a UTI and was peeing blood late at night.. I called and they scheduled her an emergency appointment for the next day.. when we got there and I checked in I explained how our pup wasn’t great with other dogs and asked if we could stay in the car and wait.. they said yes course…they I got a call and a lovely nurse said she was holding me a parking spot on the side of the building close to the exam room..she wanted our pup to be able to go straight in and not add any extra stress! Once in the exam room we were helped right away.. the nurse was wonderful as she gathered all the information.. she excused herself for less then 5 minutes and came back to get our dog..they examined her literately on the other side of our door.. I could hear the nurse calming our dog as she was nervous. I could hear the vet doing his exam and then all of a sudden my dog started to cry and then a little yelp…at that point I heard the vet tell the nurse.. let’s give her a break.. that made me feel so good.. the ideal that 1 he wasn’t just trying to rush her through her app. And 2nd that he actually cared about her pain and stress level! To wrap the whole thing up.. my experience was wonderful!! The people from check in to check out and everyone in between were so kind and caring! Would definitely trust them with my baby girl again!
