How to Save Money at Kzoo Cat Cafe and Rescue

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I love the cat Cafe. I love that they give FREE cat food to those in need & don't judge or ask questions. I also love their setup inside for their adoptable cats. It's very nice & cat friendly & very clean. I hope to volunteer with them in the near future or even possibly be an employee if that's something that could happen someday. If you're looking for a beautiful cat or two to own, choose Kzoo Cat Cafe for only the best!

I have visited several times and always enjoy stopping by! The cafe is always such a welcoming environment and so much fun to visit! I recently had the opportunity to adopt a kitty and was extremely impressed by the thoroughness of the adoption process. It’s clear everyone is very educated and passionate about what they do and dedicated to finding these cats the absolute best home possible! I was provided with multiple resources to help my kitty adjust and got to speak with his foster as well! I felt that myself and my new best friend were set up for success from the start! I also appreciate that we feel supported even following the adoption process; I was told they don’t stop caring about the kitties after they get adopted and 100% believe that to be very true and another tell tale sign of the devotion they put into what they do! Animal rescue is tough and I just adore this organization and cannot speak highly enough about my experience, both in visiting and adopting from here! I’m looking forward to continuing to support them in any way I can and singing their praises! Thank you so much for all that you do for the local community and these kitties!!!

I’ve visited the Kzoo Cat Café multiple times and absolutely fell in love with an adorable little boy by the name of meatball. Some other reviews show pictures of him and he is just as silly in them as he is in person. I’ve had nothing but great times at this place. Surrounded by endless cats to love, and if i want i can maybe take one home? Dont know what else you could possibly want. Ive seen some people mention a smell, but like theres cats… its gonna smell like cats lol. I had a friend show me this place when I first started college. Its a great opportunity to be able to visit some kitties when i couldn’t have one of my own. Through some of the time i've spent here i've talked to some of the staff, who seem to show nothing but love for all the wonderful kitties here. From the playful kitties to the snoozy ones theres a little guy for everyone to love. I can’t say anything but praise for the place I received my wonderful little boy from. Thank you Kzoo cat cafe! for everything you do.

I really enjoyed visiting the Cat Cafe. It's not feasible for me to have a cat of my own, but it was a fun and soothing hour to spend with all the kitties. They are well-kept, clean, and in good spirits. The cafe must take a lot of work to keep this many cats so well. I especially appreciated the fact that the humans in charge were friendly.
