How to Save Money at Animal Clinic Gull Road
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Got my kitty an emergency appointment for his eye infection here. By happy accident, we arrived an hour early for his appointment. We were still shown a room and went through everything that we could without the doc. The extra time helped my scaredy cat get accommodated somewhat to the room, though the staff did everything in their power to treat him respectfully on his terms, even offering him a calming towel. The staff were incredibly kind about my financial situation, offering the care that was needed with funds in mind. I didn't feel judged or embarrassed. The compassion of the staff really made the whole environment much more supportive and caring than I had anticipated with my previous vetinary experiences in mind. My boy was prescribed the eye drops that he needed and received a necessary shot, we left feeling optimistic, and his eye drops cleared the infection in record time. We love the staff at both the Gull rd and Mosel rd animal clinic, enough to travel from outside of kalamazoo. The service is top quality, the staff clearly love the patients that they work with and are committed to providing compassionate care. 5 🌟 care, will recommend to family and friends 🧡 Thank you for helping my boy feel better 🙏 Pictures of the boy included

Cannot recommend this office more! Extremely transparent, efficient, kind, and friendly. I have taken both my cats there for routine visits and a dental surgery and they are just perfect as far as veterinary offices go. During the surgery I got multiple calls discussing plan and pricing, making sure everything was very clear before proceeding. It’s been a week post surgery and my cat is doing phenomenally. Highly recommend!

I will never bring any of my animals back to this vet clinic. The male vet is atrocious. No bedside manner. He talks over everyone and doesn't listen. Coincidentally one of our dogs (who was diabetic) went blind right after eyedrops prescribed to him were administered. The male vet refused services to any dog that isn't completely docile. I've had pets for nearly 50 years, and this is the worst vet I have ever seen. AVOID AT ALL COSTS if you value the life of your pet. UPDATE: "Dr." Buckley just called my cell to "discuss" my review. Not only was he combative and baited me into a shouting match, he insulted my daughter and called us horrible pet owners and wished ill will on the dog my daughter brought in. This man may have gone to veterinary school, but he needs more schooling on how to be a better human.

The entire staff was wonderful from the scheduling to the visit. Dr. Flanagan and Dr. Buckley took the time to carefully examine each of my dogs in which I found severely lacking in other local Richland options.. I also thought the pricing was very competitive.

This Veterinarian clinic was absolutely amazing. The staff was exceptional and they got me in very quickly for my fur baby as it was urgent. The prices were definitely affordable and I will definitely be going back. My tech Alex was absolutely amazing as well. Thank you all!
