How to Save Money at Advanced Veterinary Care Group
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

If you are looking for a place you trust to handle a surgery on your fur baby, this is the place to go. I've had four dogs, three of them that have needed everything from cancer removal to knee and ligament repair. They have always been kind, highly experienced, and make sure I'm prepared and informed so I can maximize their recovery. My pups have gotten the best care here over many many years and I will continue to bring them back here when needed!

Absolutely cannot sing the praises of this clinic high enough. They were able to get our dog in immediately for surgery (next day from when we called). We are so relieved our dog was seen so quickly in a situation where time was of the essence. Other clinics were weeks out before he could be seen, and our biggest fear was that our dog wouldn't make it that long. We were treated absolutely amazingly, with empathy. Dr. McCoy gave us a very detailed explanation of the surgery and we felt confident that our dog would be in good hands. Our dog made it through surgery and was home with us recovering the same day. He's doing well and we're so relieved that the most critical part of his health is no longer a threat. The clinic was available to answer our questions and concerns after surgery; we're very happy we found this clinic and were able to get our dog treated here.

Where do I start? They did such amazing work on my bulldogs. My Khaos loves everyone there. I ended up having nares & soft palate done as well. I noticed a difference immediately. I can’t speak highly enough for the staff and the drs. Dr Elmer listened and addressed all my questions. The staff is so sweet. Khaos loves his buddy Miss Ashley. They treated my kiddos like their own. So much love and compassion from all of them. So happy I found this place. Khaos had his second surgery for his nares and palate. They are just fantastic here. Next his brother odin will have that same surgery. Waiting for his appointment 🥰 THANK YOU FOR LOVING ALL MY KIDS LIKE THEY ARE YOUR OWN. UPDATE they did my Odins surgery. ( enyo got spayed when khaos had his surgery) again they did a FANTASTIC job. So very thankful for this place. Odin is a new boy. He caused some ruckus after with his howling lol🤦🏻♀️ THANK YOU GUY SO SO MUCH FOR BEING SO PASSIONATE AND CARING.

Dr. Razza was absolutely amazing with my cat, Rio. She walked in the room and immediately got down on the floor to gently approach Rio and make him feel comfortable. Kind, smart, cautious, reassuring, and a great listener. Phenomenal after-care too! I will definitely recommend Dr. Razza to friends and Rio's vet.

I have a 3 month old Staffordshire Bull terrier and she slipped on ice and broke her leg. Her vet said that she needed surgery and everywhere we were sent was in the 5000$ range. Then we heard about this surgery center and they were able to get us in within a week and the cost was less then half of what we were quoted EVERYWHERE else. It was a great experience (not the arm but dealing with the employees here) and I would recommend EVERYONE I know that has a pet that needs surgical intervention to bring them here. It's about your pet not the money here! I also was told to make a follow up with them for 2 weeks to remove the stitches. I can't say enough Thank You's to everyone that took such good care of our baby girl Aura! So one more time, Thank you! The Millers
