How to Save on Veterinary Costs at East Douglas Veterinary Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Went there for vaccinations and fixing of my cats he asked $450 a cat and permission to pull a tooth if necessary for additional $150 while they are under anesthesia, because he won't have time to let us know. He was very nice and had free consultation but spent have the time talking about how he may have to pull a tooth because it may become a problem. It seemed like he really wanted to pull a tooth he even showed us a tooth he pulled from a different cat. Very bizarre. Needless to say we left fast. Got are cats taken care of for $150 each

Dr. Garry Cowan is an amazing vet! He's knowledgeable and reasonable! He's definitely the best vet in town! We have been very satisfied with going to Dr. Cowan. You can tell him and his staff are very caring people and they have great customer service. They will treat you and your animal very well!

Doctor Cowan and his staff are professional, caring, compassionate and love their patients. They are very prompt at notification when treatments are due. Miss Maggie, who isn't fond of going to the doctor, is normally quite comfortable in their clinic.

Dr. Cowan and the entire office staff always take such incredible care of our fur babies. Dr. Cowan takes such care with them, and takes time to make sure we, as parents, understand whatever we need to. We will always highly recommend them!
