My dogs Noah and Joey have been coming to SouthSide since they were puppies 2 1/2 years ago. The front staff, vet techs, and veterinarians have always been spectacular. I’ve referred friends to come here because I’m always left satisfied with the experience. Special shout-out to Dr. Winkley she is the sweetest person ever and she always goes over and beyond for her patients and pet parents. Highly recommend you see her and come to Southside.

Before you go here, check Yelp. They used to be locally owned with Dr. Schieffer was the reason people loved this place. Southside was bought out as is happening with many other local vets. The high average was earned by the prior vet/owner. I had two vet sick cats while I was away on vacation. One went to our regular vet, was treated and got better. The second I took here because my regular vet was out of town. They took my cat "to the back" for a blood draw. I realized my other cat, who had recovered, had the exact same symptoms. I asked Dr. P if she thought the same treatment would be appropriate. She said they don't use the same medicines my other cat has received, that it was outdated protocol. She recommended a parasitic. My cats are indoors, but you never know. I asked again whether a similar protocol wouldn't be better since it got results.She said, "if you want to do what your other vet did, why don't you go back there?" I was already there with my ill cat and had done a blood draw. The parasite treatment didn't work. I went back to my regular vet and she did recover. I appreciate not wanting to over medicate perhaps that was the intent I'd like to be offered test result copies without having to remember to ask.

Dr. Winkley saw my one year old GSD Zuri for annual vaccinations. I brought my dog trainer along and Dr. Winkley was happy to allow us to practice different mock scenarios in addition to the vaccine. We did a mock blood draw and a mock temperature check, plus oral exam and abdominal check. I really appreciate her willingness to spend extra time with us so I could build my confidence handling my dog in these situations!

Dr. Calla Reilly was funny and personable and took great care of my two kitties for their appointment. She was also very knowledgeable and we can't wait to see her again for our booster appointment. Thank you for everything you do Dr. Reilly!

I previously left a 5 star review for this vet, but today I am having the euthanize my dog of almost 10 years because they failed to diagnose his cancer. Cancer we have been taking him to search for over the last 2 years, and several thousand dollars later. They tested and retested and found nothing. Preformed and reperformed scans, but failed us. It took Blue Pearl about 30 mins to find the cancerous mass in his neck. He has been suffering for two years. We have been searching for answers with this vet, trusting in this vet, but they aren't who they used to be. I do not know how they missed it. They really let us down. And they really really let Chip down. My review went from always recommending them, to always warning people of their negligence. Never go here. Go to Blue Pearl.
