How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Olathe West Veterinary Care

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

We've been with Dr. Warwick thru 2 Westies, 15+ years. A true dog lover and a great human being, glad to know him. He's taken great care of our dogs in good times and in bad.

Please do not spend your money here. I brought my cat in because he had developed a rash that ran from him shoulders all the way back to his tail, this rash was developed WHILE he was in pet boarding at this place. When I came back, I made an appointment to see what the rash was about. The doctor kept telling me that it was fleas and that I should fumigate the house for fleas, I spent around $425 for vaccines and some drops. We were giving the medication as intended but nothing was happening so I scheduled another appointment. Dr. Warwick kept telling me that it was fleas and that he got it from my house even though he had never had a rash before we put him in pet boarding. Thankfully, I switched him to a way better vet. Again, do not spend your money here.

We had to take our 2 year old girl to get spayed after she got with a boy. I called on Monday and they were able to have her in by Friday. Everyone there was super helpful and nice and took great care of our baby ❤️

Hidden fees. They added a $30 fee for an "examination." They looked in her ears and listened to her heart. The exam was over before I could even express that I didn't want it. $30 for a 10 second exam. The only service I requested was a vaccination. So instead of last year's rabies vaccine costing $25, this year's vaccine cost me $60. Save your money and go somewhere else.
