How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Auburn Animal Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Very friendly staff, A+ Doc, and modest pricing. Brought my bunny in with a teary eye and ended up having an ear infection. She showed signs of GI stasis throughout treatment and Auburn kept her for multiple days to monitor her and take great care of her. She has since been doing great, and she and I are thankful 🥳

I brought in a cat I had just adopted. Before I adopted her, she had gone here for a lot of work done teeth needing pulling, spaying, rabies shots & respiratory problems. Her check up went great and I will be taking my dog there now.

Went to a vet in Freeport IL. He told me that my very sick cat had FIP, said there was no cure for it, refused to do any tests and sent me home. (He also was rough with her and I think she got sick from the Freeport place cus no one cleaned anything there, I kid you not it was FILTHY) I refused to accept that's what it was and took her to Auburn animal clinic to Dr Holm (recommended by a friend's mom) for a second opinion. Dr Holm and aswell as her staff are amazing! The place is clean, and She treated my Lydia baby as if she was her own, had me calling everyday with updates (her concern aswell as straight and to-the-point way of saying things instantly won me over), and in essence, saved her life. As I had suspected the 1st vet in Freeport was not only wrong, but only cheap cuz he rushes pets in and out, throws meds at them, and doesn't care to do any tests!! That cats my world, Thank you to Dr holm, you're now officially my go-to vet for all my babies needs. She's doing better, and doesnt have FIP, thank you for your reassurance and for being willing to do tests and even for telling me that there IS a cure for FIP , if that's what it was. Not only do these people care about your pets, they're affordable and educated. I recommend them to all of my family and friends. And to the people complaining about the area, why does it matter? They're here to care for your pets. They expect payment upfront because I'm sure people have ruined financing options in the past. They ARE NOT all about the money, as some judgemental people are saying. They do truly care about your pets at Auburn. I can attest to that...even if my kitties still have a cold, Lydia isn't knocking at deaths door anymore, and is playing again and doing so much better!! Will have to reach back out to the vet if they get sicker though. (She recommended something to help boost their immune systems.) Dr Holm rocks!!

This place is horrible. Maybe they might be knowledgeable with dogs and cats but I took my guniea pig here a couple years ago for a UTI. He was given antibiotics and was doing well with that. But they said they had did an xray and it showed that he had stones and needed surgery. So thinking that this was true, I scheduled the surgery. The day of surgery, they did not call me til 9:00 pm to tell me he was doing well and the surgery went well but he actually never had stones. So basically they opened him for nothing. They wanted to observe him over night even though there is no 24 hr staff. The next morning I get a call that he passed and they didn't know why. I still had to pay over $1000 for the surgery and the Dr. Said she wanted to do a biopsy and took some samples of his liver and lungs because they looked "funny" and she said she would let me know the results. Well, she never called with the results. But at that point what did it matter. They killed him anyway.
