How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Companion Animal Clinic
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Compare Pet Insurance Plans
You can compare coverage options from multiple providers to find a plan that fits your budget and your pet’s healthcare needs.
Getting to Know Your Veterinarian
Choosing a veterinarian is an important decision for pet parents. A strong vet relationship is built on trust, communication, and understanding your pet’s individual needs.
Experience
Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.
Emergency Care Procedures
It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.
Communication Preferences
Ask how the clinic communicates with pet parents, including updates, test results, and follow up questions.
Breed Specific Health Considerations
Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.
Facility Tour
If available, touring the clinic can help you and your pet feel more comfortable before the first visit.
Final Note
Pet care decisions often involve both medical and financial considerations. Having access to trusted veterinary information alongside pet insurance comparisons can help pet parents feel more confident when planning for their pet’s health and wellbeing.

Very accommodating to my big guy "Major". Reasonable prices and patience while dealing with a not so willing patient.

Brought our 14 yr baby to her. A Dauschund. She had fallen. We couldn't get her in anywhere else. We brought her in on a Tuesday She had never been away from us. We had to wait quite a while for return calls. We had to schedule after hour visits. We saw her on the Wednesday ...she looked like there was hope. By the time we brought her home on Friday she was Severely Dehydrated....Hadn't really eaten. Was very withdrawn. We were told she hadn't cried at all while there. Now I even wonder if anyone stayed overnight. All I know is we brought her to the Animal Emergency Hospital ( wonderful place o Spring Creek...walk in only!) Not even 10 hours after brought her home from Companion. She was put to rest and my baby came home in a box. *Footnote* When we had picked her up on that Friday tho...We didn't expect to be doing so. She never informed us. We just told she'd call after hours. When we came in her assistant was surprised she was going home. Her response was "she's got what she needs to care for her". I wish I had brought my baby home that Wednesday....She needs to retire!

I wrote a check for my visit there a year and a half ago, and they just cashed it. The staff was not very friendly, and they did not even help with the problem I brought my dog in for. I went to another vet after I was there and actually got good results. I do not recommend taking any animals here.

She is compassionate towards pets but she's more concerned about money then a dog or cats life. I've had four of my dogs pass away because of a money thing with her! I wish I would have taken my pets somewhere else after the first dog passed!

Wonderful service. Was able to have my cat seen right away. Dr. Smith is very caring and communicates very well about my pets progress. My cat is now home and healthy.
