How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Harvard Veterinary Clinic
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMALS HERE!!! On Tuesday May 16th we lost our family member fuma. Fuma was a young year and half old baby and we brought him here to be fixed which ultimately led to his death. Upon check in the nurses seemed nice and told us that fuma was in good hands which was a lie. Fuma was supposed to neutered here at the clinic and supposedly the surgery went well. Upon calling and checking in the nurses told his that he was doing fine until we were about to come get him they called and told us that he did not make it. The dr claimed he may have an underlying heart condition. The clinic DID NOT PERFORM ANY PREOP BLOOD WORK OR TESTS TO MAKE SURE FUMA COULD HANDLE THE SURGERY. When we asked why this wasn’t done they said that we denied preop blood work when signing the check in forms. HOWEVER, we were handed a computer and asked to sign the line with no further explanation on what these forms were. We weren’t even able to see what we were signing because they were on a computer with only a signature box present. When asked about this the Dr said that he will next time inform his staff to “do better” The Dr. Refused to send fumas body to get autopsied to find out cause of death and said there’s nothing else that can be done. He also said that fumas body jumped when giving the anesthesia and therefore result in him receiving less sedation which he said was perfectly fine. Our cat was like family and we trusted these people to take care of him and they killed him… Also, they never not one time called us after his surgery to inform us how he was doing. We called at 2:36pm and they said he was doing good and to pick him up around 4-430pm, but Instead called back at 2:55pm and told us he had passed away. I wish I would have read reviews before we had taken him here, 11 months ago they also killed someone’s pet.

Took my dog to get a rabies shot and paid the full amount upfront and months later they sent me another bill stating they made a mistake on their end and requested more money. Won’t be coming back there as I’ll never know if they’ll keep requesting more money for the mistakes they make.
