How to Save on Veterinary Costs at GoodVets Evanston

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Great team, great care. Beautiful place. My rescue cat has asthma and bronchitis. He is home and doing much better only 24 hours after visit. Highly recommend.

Just got back from my pet Lucifer's free exam. And I'm really happy with how the place looks and feels. It was very nice and clean. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating. Dr. Lee did a tremendous job with Lucifer. He was kind and gentle with him. Overall both my cat and I had a pleasant experience. He prescribed Lucifer some antibiotics for his cold and we had the first dose as soon as we got home. This is definitely my go to veterinarian for both my cats from now on. Thank you GoodVets! ❤️ 💙

The care my dog received was nothing short of amazing. The staff there are top notch! From the time you walk in the door, you are treated with kindness. Extremely knowledgeable folks work here to provide your animal with care. The doctor was able to give me such great tips and advice going forward. I will be back! Great location, parking is metered, clean facility! Xo

My dog has had some issues with anxiety (she is a rescue and I believe has had some past trauma) and I had taken my girl to Bramer before and had a really bad experience with the vet there, who was extremely dismissive and abrupt. I live across the street from Bramer, so it was disappointing even though the rest of the staff have been great. I was so excited to see that Goodvets was opening in Evanston because I had heard a lot of great things about it, so I wanted to check them out after my experiences with Bramer. It was like night and day. My pup was so excited to be there, and the techs and receptionists and the vets were all so friendly and gave her so much love. The vet I saw had been absolutely wonderful and had explained to me a lot of the steps needed, and were very good at handling my girl to make sure she wasn't getting upset. When she was showing signs of anxiety, they stopped the exam and prescribed her some anti-anxiety meds and said she could come by for the rest of the exam later. They didn't charge me for the exam because she had been so anxious and they didn't want to push it, which I thought was awesome!! Honestly I think this was the first time since adopting my dog that she had a good time at the vet. Even though it's a bit farther from us, I think we found a great vet and a great place! We'll definitely be coming back!

Not a Place for Emergencies This morning, I woke up to find my cat suffering from a seizure. While she was older, I believed she still had a few years left with me. It quickly became clear, however, that she was nearing her time. In desperation, I searched for the closest “pet hospital” and “pet emergency” in Evanston and was routed to "GoodVets Evanston". I rushed there, distraught, and carried my cat into the lobby, hoping for help, or anything to make her final moments easier. To my dismay, I was informed that they operate by appointment only and could not provide any assistance. Minutes later, my girl passed away on my lap, just outside their doors, as I tired to find another place to go. While I understand policies and protocols, a little compassion in such a dire moment would have meant the world. I would not recommend this location for urgent situations.
