I am a new Puppy mom and needed a vet close to home as my new fur baby was in need of an exam and vaccines. I normally read Google reviews for everything before committing. In this case I didn't read any reviews and immediately made my puppy an appointment. At our first visit sitting in the waiting room I decided to open up the Google reviews for VCA Mont Clare and I became apprehensive because honestly the reviews weren't the best even though they were outdated. I will say I was not disappointed at all. My fur baby was treated well and I did not feel rushed and was given ample time to discuss any questions or concerns as a new dog owner. Dr Lisa Mortensen and all her Techs as well as front desk staff were all very professional and helpful. So far we have been back twice to complete all vaccines and I appreciate the Tech visits as they are fast and prompt. I am truly grateful for all their help and willingness to answer all my questions with each visit. Bottom line is they are great and don't let random bad reviews steer you away. Thank you Mont Clare VCA for making our visits with you great ones.

Our cat (Naji) was really ill, we were able to book an appointment for her IMMEDIATELY. The staff was caring, attentive and knowledgeable. They worked with us on the financial aspect as well. GREAT GREAT SERVICE! Will continue using their services! 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Took my recently adopted dog for its free appointment. I was told she would need a couple of vaccines and I was told also that she will have to have a booster in three weeks and that all that included in the payment for $237 and I agreed. But turns out now that I had to pay another $150 more the booster. Never was informed about the care club or anything in the first “free” appointment”. No coming back to this place.

They're nice enough. But they never told me they wanted a #2 sample, and it's nowhere near 110.00 for one even in ridiculously overpriced Lincoln Park! So far, I got her teeth cleaned for 900 in LP and Compassionate on Harlem by Aldi STARTED at 1,200, up to 2,500!! Which is completely insane. And NOT going to happen, either. Do you REALLY think people can afford those prices? It's about twice as much, in this case, for a simple fecal test. Also, I don't care to have stuff done and nobody tells you the cost ahead of time. I had a dermatologist pull that and it cost me 500.00 that greatly overpriced, BS "insurance didn't touch one dime of!! I found that out AFTER the appointment! They also told me NOTHING. Still have the skin problem, too! Probably stress from being taken advantage of. We were using Oz Animal. Anyone can call them and ask what a fecal costs...I know for a fact, their overhead is WAY MORE than here. I was in real estate.

We took our dog to vca April 11, 2024 bc she was using the bathroom in the house. payed nearly 250$ in bloodwork and a special diabetes test. For them to come back in the waiting room and say good news she doesn’t have diabetes. Gave us antibiotics and on our way home. 2 weeks later symptoms still present but our dog stops eating and drinking water and so weak. Vca required another 105$ for a visit which we did not have they recommend we take her to animal welfare league which they took there own blood work and X-ray there (and we had to pay again) and tell us she has severe diabetes and this all could’ve been controlled if it was caught sooner. Our dog passed same day just 4 hrs later. So shame on vca for taking senior citizens money especially those who are low income! You lie about the test results and what’s actually wrong with our pets to consume more money. Our dog could’ve been with us a little while longer if your staff would’ve never lied about the results!
