How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Chicago Cat Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Very caring staff, great at treating all ages and issues of cats. They were so helpful when my almost 18 year old went thru his final and rather long illness needing frequent blood work and treatment and interacting with his specialist. Patient with my very skittish 14 year old. And they are great with my two new baby kittens who arrived with numerous parasites and are now thriving under their advice and care.

I highly recommend Chicago Cat Clinic. The office feels somehow homey even though it is a stressful environment. Everyone at the front desk has been veryyyy responsive and kind. My son went in for dental surgery and they were very helpful w explaining his aftercare and also followed up to ask how he was doing early the next morning. It really feels like they do care about the cats they treat and there is definitely a level of knowledge about felines that other vets do not possess.

We love the Chicago Cat Clinic! Our boy Chip is VERY scared of the vet and he sure doesn’t make it easy on them. But they treat him, and us, with such patience and care.

As always The Chicago Cat Clinic front desk, the Vet Techs and Dr Patrick were caring, and helpful at Saffron's visit. I never feel rushed and all of my questions were answered. I appreciate all you do for me and my furless babies!

The doctor we visited here were not very knowledgeable, nor are they true cat specialists. They also charge extra for a specialist’s opinion, yet the level of expertise does not match what they claim. Their follow-up is very weak, and they often say one thing and do something else. They didn’t even review their own medical notes—in fact, I had to remind them that they already had the report on file. They told me my cat needed radiography, but they never documented that in the medical report. They also submitted inaccurate information to my insurance. Their prices are about 1.5 times higher than other clinics I visited afterward. The medication they prescribed caused a reaction on the first use, and I had to stop it immediately. The doctor at the other clinic was surprised that the cat clinic had prescribed such a medication. I do not recommend this place. Poor follow-up, inconsistent care, lack of feline specialization, limited medical knowledge, and unreliable reporting made this a very disappointing experience.
