How to Save Money at Bond Vet - Lakeview
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Most incredible vet visit I've ever experienced. The staff was wonderful; from Emily warmly greeting my dog and me, to nurse Katie and Dr. Lam giving the most considerate and personalized care, it was remarkable. I'm so thankful and appreciative to everyone who helped us, and I highly recommend Bond Vet to anyone who's looking for exceptional care for their pets.

I take my cat here when necessary because it’s extremely convenient however, I prefer my primary vet over this place, which happens to be in Minnesota. This place offers great care and expertise however, it is just extremely expensive. I do feel like they nickel and dime for every single thing during a visit and always require a follow up visit where you end up spending more money during the follow up. I have also had two times where they either forgot to trim my cats nails or said they weren’t able to. Overall, this place is just OK and it gets the job done, but I only go here when it’s extremely necessary. Everything else like my cats annual exam and dental cleaning, I bring to my favorite vet in Minnesota, which is a fraction of the cost

Read before you waste your time and money at this place. Bond Vet is an incompetent provider. I took my one-year-old cat in for what Bond Vet told us was simply an upper respiratory infection. They gave us a supplement, and told us to come back if it didn't work. He only became sicker, and so we went back to Bond Vet for a second visit. This time, they gave him a round of oral antibiotics and a cream for his eye, which was irritated as an effect of the infection. We gave him the full round of orally administered antibiotics, and found that he still showed very little improvement. We took him in to Bond Vet a third time, where they gave him a long-acting version of the same antibiotic administered as a shot, and told us that if this doesn't work we should bring him in for an X-ray. throughout our visits they suggested expensive scans which we declined. Once again, there was a short period of improvement and a quick reversion to his initial level of illness. At this point we decided to look for other care, and found a different vet office (Fauna on Lawrence). Upon requesting that Bond Vet send my cat's files over to this different office, they claimed they had never treated him, and that all they had on record was a single cancelled appointment. Once we went to the second vet, they immediately told us it was actually a Feline Herpes Virus flare-up that could not effectively be treated with "chronic antibiotics". They gave us much better care and information. Bond Vet is either entirely incompetent or were trying to milk money out of us, like many other vet chains. -Update They just called me my personal number to ask about this review. They were able to transfer the files in the call, but that was not the reason for the call. They claimed that I had declined PCR tests but I remember distinctly what I was offered in the appointments I took him to and I was not offered any tests, if I was it was spoken about as something for the next appointment if the second round of antibiotics doesn't work. feline herpes was also not mentioned to me verbally. the family member who took him to the first appointment there also does not recall being offered a PCR test, or having it mentioned. The fact that they were able to trace this review back to my file, but were unable to transfer said files to a different vet is indicative of some irresponsible practices here. If it is not already obvious, I highly recommend that you steer clear of this vet. After doing more research and finding more reviews I have seen many stories just like mine.

My experience with this vet is incredible every time! Natalie is the absolute best! Always super super helpful and patient. I find the messaging system to the doctors to be efficient and they always respond in a timely manner. The lobby and rooms are always very clean and welcoming. These are my first kitties and I could not have chosen a better vet!

Truly Exceptional Veterinary Experience We made the switch to BondVet in December, drawn in by their convenient location, but after just one visit, we wished we had come years ago. From the very beginning, we were met with an unparalleled level of kindness, expertise, and ease of care that truly set them apart from any other veterinary experience we’ve had. Unfortunately, our beloved 15-year-old cat was diagnosed with cancer at an emergency vet, and the past few months have been incredibly difficult. But through it all, BondVet was there for us and for her every step of the way. Their telehealth appointments helped minimize her stress, virtual prescription refills made her care seamless, and every interaction with the team reassured us that she was in the best hands possible. When the time came to say goodbye, the in-office euthanasia experience was handled with such professionalism, empathy, and gentleness that we left knowing we had given her the peaceful passing she deserved. It was one of the hardest moments of our lives, but BondVet made it feel dignified and full of love. We cannot say enough good things about BondVet. When the time comes to welcome a new pet into our lives, we won’t hesitate to return. Thank you, BondVet, for the compassion, care, and support you’ve shown our family. You truly make a difference.
