How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Covered Bridge Equine
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Covered Bridge Equine is by far the best local vet practice I have ever dealt with. From the friendly office staff, to the capable techs and the amazing vets, they are all genuinely great and caring people. I run a very busy boarding barn in the Athens-area and CBE takes care of all of our routine vaccinations, coggins, dentals and lameness exams. They are also able to supplement these services with chiropractic care, acupuncture and emergency services. The office staff is great about scheduling, even last minute appointments, to fit our sometimes hectic barn schedule and they always take our emergency calls seriously and handle them in a timely fashion. I have never been left hanging; they are very rarely late and always give notice if they are running behind. All of the vets and staff have been great with my boarders and take the time to explain the different procedures and to make plans for on-going care when necessary, which keeps boarders informed and confident in their horses well-being. Whether it's a major emergency or a routine visit, I trust Covered Bridge and Dr. Peroni, Dr. Williams and Dr. Mayhew to give 110% to ensure our horses receive the absolute best possible care. There are a lot of great vets in the area, but there aren't any with a whole team of people as knowledgeable, kind-hearted and down to earth as Covered Bridge Equine.

Covered Bridge Equine has been kind enough to let me intern under them as I complete undergrad. Working alongside these doctors has been such an amazing gift. The doctors here truly care about their equine patients and communicate very well with their owners to ensure the highest quality of care. I was very impressed by the staff's knowledge, compassion, and kindness.
