I will preface and say that we have been taking our 3 dogs to cheek to cheek for 3 years. We absolutely loved Dr Cheek and he helped our Dane when he was sick with a rare doggy flu… Yesterday, we took our dog in for his annual exam. The vet tech acted like she was terrified and that made Bo uneasy. If anyone knows, Danes are very vocal and Bo was definitely being talkative and growling. As he was unsure of his surroundings. The tech didn’t try to even try to “sweet talk to him”. They ended up muzzling our sweet boy. While he laid down and let them repeatedly poke him trying to do a simple blood draw for a heartworm test. The vet then continued to ask why we didn’t sedate him and referred to a trazadone prescription he was given LAST year. The trazadone was given to him after he was nuetered and had complications healing due to always wanting to play and not giving the surgical site enough time to heal. Why would we sedate before a vet appointment when we never have had an issue?? He never has had an issue going to places and meeting new people. He frequents doggy daycare and has been well socialized. It was very clear that the vet and staff were uncomfortable handing a dog of his size. Anyone in the vet field knows that dogs can read human emotions VERY well and they will react accordingly. Like mentioned before, we came in for his annual exam. He also has skin issues and some inflammation/ itching in his ears. We were told to give benedryl and that his skin seemed to be clearing up when this in fact was not the case! His hair is literally falling out and his skin is turning black. Considering he is also having issues with his ears there is more going on. We were charged a 50% mark up on ear cleaner that I could have purchased online for literally half the price. The last time we had our small dogs there for a drop off our 9 year old pug was given back to us covered in her own feces. There was no attempt to clean her up and NO mention that she was in this state. They also told us over the phone that X-rays would be $100 and then ended up charging us $198 and gave us the wrong heartguard strength. (They ended up crediting our account $45. Not so sure where they got that magical number..) Anyways, yesterday We left spending almost $500 and with unanswered medical questions and a dog that was skid-dish the rest of the day after his experience. This definitely was the last straw and we will no longer be taking our dogs to this practice.

Hey so, this is a great establishment if you just need to get your pet their medication ASAP or you're looking to get them their immunizations; but this is absolutely the worst vet you can take your pet to long-term if you actually care for their health and well being. I have expressed concern after concern to their staff to be told "oh that's fine, just do this," or "oh that's normal, don't worry," as I watch my pets teeth and gums and weight deteriorate thinking "oh this must be fine, I guess." Only to realize too late that they just never cared enough to tell me what was an issue all along. I just requested my dogs medical records to transfer them to a new vet, and guess what they documented as major health concerns: dental deterioration and obesity. I sure would have loved to know this a year or two ago so I could have sought the care he needed instead of being told "oh hell be fine, just give him a dental chew every other week."

Love this place! They take great care of my old lady, and when my nieces dog had puppies they were incredible thru the pregnancy and taking care of the little ones. From front desk to the docs... some of the best around!

I've been wanting to do this reviews on cheeks and cheeks Hospital. When I first start growing their staff and everything was respectful towards me. On February 13th I got 2 of my girls dogs "neuter". The doctor spoke to me the one that is surgeon told me that everything was fine. The older lady who's in the front office call me and told me that everything was fine with the surgery. I couldn't pick them up from cheeks and cheeks Hospital because I was at work and I structure my sister to pick both of them up. My sister told me that they gave her some papers but they never explained to her what it was? Anyways making story I took it to Jacksonville and I had to spend more money 700$ when nothing was wrong with my dog because a lack of communication and didn't want to give the information to my sister. And the crazy thing about it is that me being as a customer I spoke to the doctor to the one that did the surgery and the Staffing and both of them did not mention anything to me about what was wrong with my dog.
