How to Save on Veterinary Costs at West End Animal Wellness Center

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Getting to Know Your Veterinarian

Choosing a veterinarian is an important decision for pet parents. A strong vet relationship is built on trust, communication, and understanding your pet’s individual needs.

Experience

Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.

Emergency Care Procedures

It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.

Communication Preferences

Ask how the clinic communicates with pet parents, including updates, test results, and follow up questions.

Breed Specific Health Considerations

Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.

Facility Tour

If available, touring the clinic can help you and your pet feel more comfortable before the first visit.

Wow! Our family loved the experience for our puppy which welcomed us with smiling faces from the moment we entered and while they answered all of our new puppy questions!

My 3 dogs have been there twice now and everyone is super nice and very knowledgeable. I just recently had to help one of my babies cross the rainbow bridge and they were the most accommodating and loving. The vet and vet tech laid in the floor with me and said “we aren’t leaving until you are ready”. They had blankets and the kindest regards. I am so grateful for everyone there.

So helpful and kind, and so patient and nice to my cat. Such a pleasant and low stress experience! Thank you for taking the time to listen and making sure Clementine was taken care of. Felt like they really listened to my questions and Dr. Ashley was so kind, my cat loved her

We love this vet office. Their staff is so kind and our pets (cats and a dog) seem at ease here. We recently switched from a different local vet, where my animals were definitely a lot more anxious. The clinic has transparent pricing and accurate quotes. They are also incredibly affordable, which is important when you have a multi-pet household, and expenses can pile up quickly with vets. We are definitely going to be clients of West Animal Wellness for as long as we live in Atlanta!

Dr. Randall has been so great since we first started bringing our little baby girl from the time she was a puppy. She is a wonderful doctor supported by a caring staff. Our annual visits really give us peace of mind. Wouldn't trust anyone else with our little Ada, we even moved further away and still travel the extra time to see Dr. Randall.
