How to Save Money at Arista Advanced Pet Care | Atlanta
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Dr Evans is easily one of the best vet oncologists in the region! He and Arista took great care of our baby. The facilities are very nice with friendly and caring staff. I can’t forget about the treat varieties they had for pups and the coffee station/snacks for human companions as well. Highly recommend this clinic.

I got my first dog at 19 years old and for the past 10 years she has been my absolute best friend and has walked through the beginnings of adulthood with me. Not a day goes by where I don’t wake up to a wagging tail, or come home to a bouncing, butt-wiggling welcome. One day, she wasn’t feeling her best so I took her into her primary vet just for some mild GI upset. I opted to do X-rays just in case and my heart sank at the results. She had a very obvious cancerous tumor on her lung. As someone who has worked in the veterinary field for 5 years, I’m aware of just about every possible thing that could go wrong, and how risky a surgery would be. I was extremely worried that my days with my best friend might be coming to an end sooner than I thought. We immediately called Arista for a consult. Dr. Evans was wonderful and walked us through every available option, took his time, and even told us about his own experience with the same tumor in one of his personal dogs. Him and his technician took great care of her for the day while she had a CT scan and we even got the results the day of. My pup was cleared as a great candidate for surgery. We were then referred to Dr. Lockwood and I knew she already has a great reputation in the veterinary community. I felt very at ease leaving my baby in her and Casey’s care. When she had to spend the night after surgery, I called multiple times for updates, late at night, and early in the morning, and every person was so kind and helpful, and even sent me a picture of her resting comfortably wrapped up in a blanket. The next day she was doing great and I was able to come get her. Her healing process went smoother than I had expected, her fairly large incision looked great. Dr. Lockwood did such a fantastic job! She is back to her normal self like nothing ever happened! We are continuing to work with Dr. Evans to ensure the best plan of treatment. I’m so grateful to Arista and the care they’ve given to Iris. Thanks to them, my girl will get some more days on this earth chasing squirrels, eating treats, and going for adventures ❤️ I can’t thank every person at Arista enough. I highly recommend this practice for any specialty or emergency needs.

Dr. Brolin Evans is an amazing oncologist - and while I obviously would prefer not to have a need for this specialty, I'm so grateful to have him in our corner. My dog Elie is almost 3 years out from her melanoma diagnosis and continues to thrive. At almost 13 she's maintained excellent quality of life and we've kept that cancer at bay. Dr. Evans always walks through all the options and helps make the best decision for you and your pet. Could not recommend him highly enough. And the new clinic is a beautiful space!

Dr Evans is a wonderful oncologist! He is kind, compassionate, professional and is truly passionate about the care he provides to his patients. He provided wonderful care for our sweet girl for 9 months! Our journey did not end as we hoped it would, however, we knew that in the end we had done the best we could thanks to Dr Evans. The Arista clinic is so nice, clean and easy to find. The staff is helpful and friendly. I spoke with Annie and Allison several times on the phone and they were incredibly nice and went above and beyond to help me with any situation that arrived! I would highly recommend Dr Evans and Arista for any care that you may need for your pets! We will not hesitate to return in the future!

I'm so grateful to the team at Arista, and specifically Dr. Nasr, for the care my pup Hugo has received over the past few weeks. From reception at the front desk during ER intake, transfer into the surgical unit at a teaching hospital for a specific procedure, and then subsequent medical treatment and monitoring, every team member I've interacted with is empathetic and communicative, and left me confident that Hugo was receiving the best care available. Lydia, Annie, and Allison were all engaged at different points in his care and made a stressful diagnosis feel a little bit more manageable. Dr. Nasr cared and advocated for Hugo as though he were her own, and I'm so thankful we were referred to Arista for his diagnosis and treatment. While I hope the worst is behind us, I'm comforted knowing this level of care is available in Atlanta.
