How to Save on Veterinary Costs at The Veterinary Eye Team

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Dr. Sigmund removed an eyelid growth from my soul cat a few years ago. I was not concerned at the time, but he suggested that we send the growth for testing to see if it was cancerous. It did comeback as cancer, but was very low grade and there has been NO regrowth! So thankful for his quick intervention and expertise!

Dr. Sigmund is not only an incredibly valued and trusted colleague for which I refer to frequently (as a veterinary internist myself!) - he has also treated my personal cat! He is thorough, knowledgeable, and an excellent ophthalmologist. Atlanta is incredibly fortunate to have him as a part of our veterinary community, and I'm so thankful he's sticking around with the VET.

Drs. Sigmund and Keenan are my go-tos for my dog’s ophthalmology needs! My dog, Josie, had a grooming incident that required surgery and treating a corneal ulcer. Not only are they experts in their field but they are also extremely compassionate and understand the nerves involved when your pet is hurt. They treated Josie quickly and effectively. They are truly the best in Atlanta! 10/10 recommend.

Dr Sigmund is the best! When we had a concern about our dog’s eye he did a thorough exam, explained what we were seeing, and put a plan in place for continued monitoring. I highly recommend him!
