How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Banfield Pet Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

brought in a stray cat that had an injury not long before they closed and they were so helpful and nice! The vet tech was great and so gentle with the cat! Wish I remembered her name so I could say it here.

If I could give zero stars I would. Do not come to this location or see Dr. Gupta. I did a drop off appointment with my dog because previous experiences with scheduled in-room appointments have had me waiting in the lobby for 2 hours with anxious pets all around. After my drop off appointment for a comprehensive annual exam last week, neither the vet nor tech came out to speak to me about my dog's check up. I was given medications to pay for and left. After a few days, I found lumps on my dog's belly that I had never noticed before and wondered if they were there when the vet did their exam. After looking for and deciphering my dog's records via the Banfield app, I see they noted the lumps and did not tell me about them or what they were. I called the Banfield location to find out more information, and they could not tell me if the lumps were new or noted before or what they were. After a long time on the phone, I advocated to speak to the vet in person during my dog's drop off for her dental cleaning appointment in a few days. I did not want a phone call because I wanted the vet to show me the lumps since apparently there were more besides the one I found. I took my dog in again and the vet was condescending with me and implied that I need to tell the vet what they need to look for when I bring my dog in and that I should've expressed that concern when I brought her in even though I had found the lumps after the appointment and I paid for my dog to receive a comprehensive exam. After this encounter, my dog then waited in a kennel for 5 hours before having her dental cleaning and then kenneled for another 3 after that to be observed because "she came late" as the vet told me. The reason "she came late" was because they failed to do their job at her previous appointment. Also, why would you schedule so many dental cleanings and have the dogs all come in first thing in the morning to be there all day? To add insult to injury, I was strongly encourgaged to come in quickly following my dog's comprehensive exam to use the same bloodwork so it would be less stressful for her on dental day. So my dog was literally just waiting for hours because she did not need all of the blood work done. This is not the first time I have had issues at this location, but I try to be understanding because I know they are busy and usually nice about it. Howverm this experience was something else. This Banfield is a terrible location after Dr. Heather Brown left. She was the best they had.

Dr. Heather Brown ~ A Vet Who Truly Cares I’ve been bringing my dog Atlas to this Banfield location since he was just two weeks old ~ he’s now 9 years old ~ and while every visit has mattered, this last one reminded me why I trust this team, especially Dr. Heather Brown. Dr. Brown went above and beyond with genuine compassion, calm professionalism, and clear communication. Her dedication to her patients and their families is something rare and deeply appreciated. It’s clear she loves what she does, and it shines through in how she handles even the most stressful moments. Atlas means the world to me, and knowing he’s under the care of someone like Dr. Brown gives me real peace of mind. Because of her, I’m proud to continue my loyalty to this location and confident in the care my dog receives here. Thank you, Dr. Brown, for being exactly the kind of vet every pet deserves.🐾 💖✨

This was by far the worst experience I have had at a veterinarian (and I was a tech for several years). My original appointment was at a neighboring Banfield for 1430 today. They called to cancel at 1345 today and directed me to this location. I called to confirm the appointment and was told it would be no problem to accommodate the appointment. Upon arrival, I was told there was not a reservation but that they would still be able to see my dog (a simple vaccine booster, nail trim, and prevention refill). The whole ordeal took three hours. Her nails are sharper than when I dropped off and I had to return for prevention, which they had not administered or prescribed. They were mildly apologetic but this was horrendous service and I will not be returning to any Banfield location for further services. Picture attached of a very rambunctious puppy that was made to wait in a kennel for nearly three hours instead of being asked to return at a later date.

My daughter has had Jewely for 17 (human)years, so she is an older kitty but still got some spunk in her. This location added Jewely 🐈same day and took very good care of her and relieved Jewely medical issue(constipation) for an older kitty it's a little painful. I highly recommend this location and we are so happy Jewely🐈 is feeling better.
