Northwood saved my baby girls life and I am forever grateful! My little Maltese stepped in a fire ant pile and hundreds swarmed her biting putting her into anaphylactic shock which was getting worse by the minute as we frantically drove to the ER. Not being from the area I had to quickly find the closest one and I’m so grateful this was where we went. We called ahead and they were waiting when we pulled up, her whole body was limp and shutting down she was losing oxygen, every minute counted and they were right there ready to take her and run her back. All of the doctors and techs were so caring and thorough, keeping us in the loop and allowing me to make judgement calls. Because she had to stay for 24 hours and has extreme anxiety they allowed us to come visit with her in a room with no questions asked and were so sweet. Some of the techs were so loving to hold and pet here during this time because it was so hard on her. I will say I maybe would have liked a little more info in the epinephrine being standard and possibly the difference between her staying alive or not. I declined it because of her heart issues but if I thought she could die without it I would have agreed. Thankfully she didn’t need it, and bounced back without it. I’m also not a fan of pulling blood from the jugular vein but maybe in the moment that was the easiest way, I don’t know. My only negative feedback would be the two older ladies running the front desk, they were less than pleasant and just acted annoyed. Everybody else was fantastic! From a cost perspective it’s an ER so that bill is never fun, but I didn’t feel they pushed anything that wasn’t necessary and didn’t price gouge. Even my regular vet in Tampa commented on how incredible they did saving her life after reading the note. My vet used to work at Blue Pearl so that says a lot. Should you ever need a hospital for your baby in Tally, I would not hesitate to go here. Highly recommend

We had to put down our Hershey girl almost 14 years old on 8/3 on a Sunday afternoon. The entire staff was compassionate and gave us our options. They were upfront with costs the entire time. The paw prints are awesome. We had a great experience in a very difficult situation. I would recommend them for an emergency vet service.

Northwood Animal Hospital is the best! This team saved my cat’s life! Remi was diagnosed with a potentially fatal illness and his odds were not in his favor. However what I was able to witness when I came to visit him was true teamwork from the front of the house to the back in ICU plus the doctors made me feel so comfortable from the beginning. I have never been here before or done business with this hospital however moving forward I will! The compassion, the care, the communication kept me at ease while my cat was in their care.The doctors communication was clear and concise during a very stressful situation. They kept me up to date and even had to have some hard conversations with me as to what might happen however they were patient and compassionate the whole way thru. The technicians were also wonderful in so many ways. They offered updates as well, along with words of encouragement and patience plus realistic concerns about Remi plus they gave Remi a lot of love! I literally got to know so many of the staff that worked at different times of the day, and this team of professionals are amazing at what they do. Remi is now home still working on recovery and we are heading in the right direction thanks to Northwood Animal Hospital!

The exotic vet that they have on staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. She covered everything perfectly and made sure we understood the needs associated with our specific type of pet and that we were already meeting them at home and made recommendations to help improve them in areas that could be improved upon. The treatment plan covered everything that could have possibly been going on based on the visible symptoms and we were very pleased that they didnt just "put a band-aid" on it and see how it goes. We will definitely be using them for any other needs that arise for our pet!

I cannot express my gratitude enough for the help that this office gave me during a pet emergency. They had only ever seen my dog once because of a referral for special testing they provided. And unfortunately my pet experienced a sudden death event after hours while my normal vet office was closed. The staff was extremely kind, helpful and willing to assist me. I cannot thank them enough for their kindness that evening. They went above and beyond and said and did all the right things for me at that time. I am forever grateful for this staff and this practice for the help they gave our family.
