It could easily be a scene from a sad but heart warming movie. Our girl Lara Cristina Klatter got sick very fast. She couldn’t eat anymore. Throwing up a stinky diarrhea. We went to a few places and nothing good happened. Time was running out for her. Ultrasound results made our hearts crash. A tumor obstructing the passage of food. She lost weight fast. In desperation I searched the net for an affordable surgeon and click the first link. Dr Fernand. Emailed him but he was out of town. Answered my email giving me some hope. Then we had a fallout. I was desperate to save my girl Lara. I made a promise not let her go to cats heaven starving. I was devastated when she would face a plate full of food but couldn’t eat. She would just stare for minutes that seemed like an eternity. Then we made the toughest decision. Let her go and get back to the Source of all creatures. We were fixing to take her to euthanize her. Exactly 30 minutes before heading out the door, Dr Rob Fernand called me. We already had decided to do it. River of tears had already fallen down our cheeks. But Dr Fernand had a way to convince me that she could survive a surgery. He told me he had done many times with great results. Thank goodness I listened to him. Dr Fernand is our angel. I bet Lara feels the same way if she could say something. Can I add at least two more stars Dr Fernand? May the Creator bless your soul. Hopefully I won’t need you anytime soon(Lol). But if so, you’re the number one choice. Thank you forever. 😍

I met Dr. Rob at Family Pet Medical Center and I cannot recommend him highly enough. He is a consummate professional and knows exactly what he is doing. He speaks with authority but also compassion and is able to break down exactly what is going on in layman terms. You make the decision on how to proceed together after he lays out all the options. His people skills are incredible but his surgical skills are why I will say wherever Dr. Rob is operating, that is where I am taking my dog. Thank you Dr. Fernand!

Dr. Fernand has been coming to Cooper City Animal Clinic to do surgeries for years and his surgical capabilities are beyond what words can describe. He is our trusted soft tissue and orthopedic surgeon that everyone loves and adores, staff and clients, not just our patients. Dr. Robert Fernand has been working with our rescue dogs for several years now. Our experience with him has always been professional & honest. Dr. Fernand does not just do surgery unless he feels it is strongly needed for the benefit of the animal. He treats each case with care and true concern.
