How to Save Money at Pearly Bites Veterinary
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

We’re so grateful to Dr. Livermore and the amazing team at Pearly Bites Veterinary for taking such excellent care of our sassy girl, Rosie, during her recent dental procedure. Rosie has a very strong personality and does not typically appreciate unsolicited attention — especially when it involves her mouth. But despite her fiery attitude, the staff treated her with incredible patience and compassion from start to finish. The care, communication, and professionalism throughout the process were exceptional. Rosie is now back to her sassy self, minus the dental pain she was probably pretending not to have. Her breath smells better, she’s eating without flinching, and her post-op swagger has fully returned. Would we do this again? Only when necessary — but we know she’s in expert hands. Rating: 5 out of 5 meows 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾 Highly recommend Pearly Bites for anyone with a beloved (and opinionated) feline in need of dental care!

Our beautiful kitty, Proton Von Cookiepuss, had tooth resorption and our regular vet recommended Pearly Bites. Everything was great! Great communication throughout entire process (from initial consultation through follow-up appointment). Everyone was super friendly and informative and they took great care of our girl. Fantastic experience for a not-so-fantastic problem. Thank you!

When we discovered my Dylan was in need of some dental extractions, we chose to go to the experts, and so glad we did. I'm leary of anesthesia with my pets, and dental surgery is serious stuff! We were so pleased with the professionalism from the first phone call, to the consultation, lab followup, surgery, and aftercare. Explained everything very well, the team was kind and gentle with my boy, and he is likely a much happier camper now! 😻 I love that they don't do a high quantity of surgeries in a day, which means you are getting the best quality and care for your pet. The communication was amazing; kept you in the loop before, during the procedure, and follow-up once he was home 👍 My only wish is that Dr. Livermore could be our regular vet, too! 😂 Dylan says thank you for making my teethies all better! 😸

So glad I took my kitty to Pearly Bites to address her life threatening dental issues. I am so impressed with cleanliness, professionalism, and customer service. It’s been 2 weeks since this 1 year old kitty had full dental extractions, and she doesn’t seem to miss those problematic chompers at all! Doctor Livermore and the Pearly Bites team gave my cat a new lease on life.We are forever thankful, this sweet kitty deserved this.

My dog fractured a tooth. After consulting with a few vets, I made the right choice with Pearly Bites. Dr. Stephanie Livermore and her team were nice. They were able to timely and thoroughly examine my dog. Dr. L had all the x-rays printed when she was explaining her recommended procedure. Dr. L took the time and did not rush when answering all of my questions. The price of the procedure is on her website, so there were no surprises with the cost. Her team kept me updated before, during, and after my dog’s procedure. Dr. L and her team were available by phone, email, and in-person to address all of my post-op concerns. My dog is now back to normal - this is no surprise because their whole practice only does (and specializes in) dental procedures. With no exaggeration, I wish Dr. L could be my dog’s regular vet!
