How to Save on Veterinary Costs at AA Animal ER Center

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Our English bulldog got heat stroke and we had to rush her here late at night. Everyone here was extremely professional and caring. The prices here are on the high end, but that's to be with an overnight emergency vet. They saved my dog's life ❤️

My husband and I took our chihuahua to this ER last night at 11:30 pm. When we arrived, we were greeted outside and was informed they were a Curbside ER. Seriously, who does that at an ER animal hospital? We were expected to complete paperwork outside in the dark and were informed we would not me be allowed in. Thats like dropping your human child off at the front door of a hospital. To say the least, we went elsewhere. No compassion shown during a stressful time. 😪

We waited hours with no one there then, waited hours while 5 or 6 other animals were treated. Then, waited hours after all the other animals were seen and left. Took over 3 hours once they decided he needed x-rays as they didn't have time to take his x-rays. They kept saying they were going to do his x-rays next but, they didn't for hours later. It took another hour to discharge him once no one was there. First one to arrive and last one to leave. Go to Urgent Care not the Animal ER unless you know for a fact it is an emergency. We thought he might need emergency surgery for a blockage, so we took him there. Wish we would of went to Urgent Care first and have them refer us to the Animal ER if needed as this took all day. We were there before the emergencies started coming in. Then, they stated they were taking care of animals in the hospital and ICU when we first got there and no one was there. They had shift change, so they weren't seeing animals waiting. Not enough staff for the volume of animals being seen. Not a good experience even when no other animals or emergencies were occurring. I would not recommend this Animal ER unless you have all day to spend waiting. They sedated my dog. He was worse leaving than when I took him.

I don't know much about their level of care, but I did not appreciate that they won't even let you inside...like you are some kind of a leper. Covid is over, it would be nice to see a human...especially when you are worried about your pet, human interaction and compassion goes a long way. So I decided to take my pet to Blue Pearl instead. Other than that, staff over the phone were very nice, I just find your curbside approach unacceptable.

Just woke up from a bad night …..and the first thing I want to do is thank these people. Long story short .. my 12 year old dog had an issue with his leg/back and was in pain. He couldn’t sit right so we rushed him to the vet. We expected to pay hundreds or more …. We were scared as well. The people there took care of him and gave us options, but because of the cost of bloood work and X-rays - the Dr and receptionist were very nice and explained he wasn’t in any pain once we brought him in and felt it was better to try some pain meds first and then if the problem persists bring him back. We did that …. And they were right. He is fine. Some pain meds and he is back to normal and doing great today. They could have easily persuaded me to do those tests and I am very grateful they didn’t. Also, he didn’t seem at all nervous there which is shocking. He shakes uncontrollably when he goes to his other vet Ps. My bill was a little over $100. Including the meds. This place has my business forever
