How to Save Money at The Wright Pet Nutrition

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I have been taking my boy, Cable, for almost 3 years now. He came in with hypothyroidism, flaking skin/ losing hair and 30 lbs overweight. His skin/fur get compliments now, he lost all the needed weight and is doing a lot better. Anytime Cable has had issues in the past three years, I go to Dr. Wright. What I love about this place is they fix the problem, not mask it or put a bandaid on it. They are truly healing from the inside out. Just recently I had to take my dog to the hospital. He refused to eat or drink for three days since being home from boarding. The hospital ran two sets of xrays, ultrasound, and a bunch of bloodwork and could not find what was wrong officially and GUESSED what they thought he may have and suggested I take him to a gallbladder specialist. I decided to call Dr.Wright once I knew he was at least stable from the IV they gave him (Day 4 of no eating). Angela squeezed me in same day and Dr. Wright figured it out quickly (pancreas and toxin NOT the gallbladder). With one dose of supplements, my baby slowly started to eat again. Thank you Dr. Wright and Angela for saving and always taking care of my boy. ❤️‍🩹

I took my dog Loki to The Wright Pet Nutrition for the first time yesterday, and it was the most remarkable experience. Not only did Dr. Wright pinpoint the discomfort in Loki's back legs, but he was able to begin to address some of Loki's emotional baggage that has been an issue since we adopted him from Animal Services 8 years ago. I wish we had found The Wright Pet Nutrition years ago, but I am looking forward to watching his progress as we continue the process.

WOW words can not describe how Dr Wright and Angela came into my Dog Chiquitin's life. Chiquitin was diagnosed with heart murmur which is heart failure in 2020. this was so hard for me and Chiquitin. but i promised you that Dr wright gave him the last year of his life one of the strongest and best life ever. Chiquitin had skin problems and alot of other things.. Dr wright gave me a great way to cook food for him and gave me supplements and holistic things for him to feel great and calm. when chiquitin passed away i was devastated and called Dr wright and Angela and cried but they made me feel better. they even sent me a card which was so special to me and my husband. this meant so much. Dr wright and Angela love what they do and they do such a great job. they want to see peoples pet feel good and last as long as possible. i can not thank you enough and will be brining my future pets to you.

I cannot say enough about Dr Wright and his team. Several years ago my sweet Sasha came up with horrible digestive problems. After spending thousands at AVS only to have a Sasha be sicker than when she first went there, we met Dr Wright. He gave us supplements and completely changed her diet. In less than a month I had my Sasha back. We continued to see Dr Wright on a regular basis. In late 2017 Sasha got very sick again, there was a mass in her abdomen involving her liver. Not operable at her Sr age of 13. Dr Wright helped us fight and gave her the best possible quality of life. Sasha passed peacefully on Jan 20. I will be forever grateful for everything Dr Wright and his team did to help us.
