How to Save Money at PAW Haus Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Hi there, I'm Bruna — a big Great Dane with an even bigger heart, and I just had to bark about how amazing my vet clinic is! Every time I visit Dr. Soto and his incredible team, I feel like the most important pup in the world. They always greet me with smiles (and sometimes treats — yum!) Whether it's a check-up, a little poke, or something more serious, they treat me with gentle hands and kind hearts. Dr. Soto is the best — he always talks to me in a calm voice, gives me lots of love, plays with me and makes sure I'm feeling my best. He knows Great Danes like me need a little extra care 😉 and he always delivers. Not long ago, I went through a fake pregnancy — my hormones got a little wild and I thought I was gonna be a mama! It was a confusing time for me (and my humans), but Dr. Soto knew exactly what to do. He explained everything clearly, gave me the best care. The whole team is pawsitively amazing. They treat every furry friend like family and I wag my tail just walking through the door. If you're looking for a place where your pet will be loved, cared for, and treated like royalty, this is it. 10/10 tail wags from me! With love and slobbery kisses, Bruna 🐶❤️

We brought in a stray dog who had arrived to our house in pretty bad shape. Despite his rough condition, he was incredibly sweet—and we quickly fell in love with him. We took him to our trusted veterinarian, Dr. Soto, and turns out he had severe conjunctivitis and a severely infected leg wound. Paw Haus treated him with such care and much needed urgency. They cleared up his eye infection and worked tirelessly to save his leg and vision. Thanks to their expert treatment, he made a full recovery—and we decided to make him part of our family permanently. We’re eternally grateful to the team at Paw Haus for giving this amazing dog a second chance at the life he deserves. Highly recommended!

I can’t say enough good things about this veterinary clinic. My dog, Maya, has struggled with recurrent ear infections for years, and it’s been such a stressful experience—for both of us. I felt stuck in a cycle of temporary fixes. That all changed when we found Paw Haus. Dr. Soto took the time to thoroughly examine not just the infection, but the possible underlying causes. He explained everything clearly, offered long-term solutions, and worked with me to develop a preventive plan. Thanks to their care and service, my dog’s ear infections have dramatically decreased. I truly feel like they care about her health as much as I do. Highly recommend this clinic to any pet owner in the Miami area looking for compassionate, effective veterinary care.

I bring both my kitties here and Dr. Soto and his team have been phenomenal to me and my babies. Very personable and attentive to each of my concerns and providing the best clinical care. My kitty had serious diarrhea that just WOULD NOT GO AWAY and Dr. Soto and his team helped guide me in the right direction and provided everything I would need to help my babies out and now they’ve fully recovered and are bright and healthy
