How to Save Money at Dr. Kathy's Veterinary Care
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I'm very happy with my decision to switch to a different veterinarian. I was really at my wits end with so many test at other place not to mention the cost. Yes I love my dog very much and want good care but let's not go overboard. Dr. Kathy is so sweet and caring, you can tell she isn't out to run a bunch of test if not needed. I would highly recommend Dr.Kathy if looking for a new vet.

I had an appointment there today at 12:00 I showed up on time I brought my dog in she’s a cane corso, who’s scared of everything, she got a little frightened at first so she let off a few barks and the fur on her back stood up for just a sec but then then I told her to sit and she sat fine, she’s a good dog, she’s never bit a human or another animal in her life, she’s the sweetest thing, you just have to be friendly and kind and she’ll love you. I brought her pee with me today so all they had to do was run the test and give me her medicine but that’s not what happened when I walked in the vet today the worker wouldn’t even come close to us she stood all the way down the hallway while we waited at the desk, she was not welcoming at all she assumed right away that my dog was out to get her she started commenting that if my dog kept acting that way she would get muzzled and that if she didn’t accept the muzzle they wouldn’t work on her. She said that she doesn’t have time for this today. I told her than we dont have time for you and we walked out she hurried up and locked the door behind us. we got in the car and drove away and right across the street was another vet offices called Oakhurst veterinary, they managed to squeeze us in and were some of the nicest people I’ve meet in a while, they were also very educated and worked well with my Stella. They took there time to really look at her and see what she needed they work great with pricing and still got me in and out in under and hour, I give all my thanks to Oakhurst Veterinary again for swooping in and saving the day

Dr Kathy is extraordinary and so is her assistant Chantelle. They both have always been spot on in the care of our two dogs and always treated all of us with much kindness and respect. As a family we feel blessed that we found Dr Kathy and this office.

A couple of years ago, I began searching for a caring, considerate vet for my two cats and decided to take them to Dr. Kathy. I have been extremely pleased with the care she has provided and especially appreciate her personal attention. Due to the recent hurricanes, Dr. Kathy was forced to relocate her practice from North Redington Beach to Seminole. During this difficult transition, she and/or her staff were always reachable and kept her patients' families advised of how to keep in contact, if needed. I highly recommend Dr. Kathy for any and all of your pet needs.

We've been taking our dogs to Dr.Kathy for several years and have always been pleased with her advice, care and reasonable fees. We recently had our puppy Ripley spayed and the job done by Dr.Kathy was nothing short of outstanding. Ripley's incision was tiny and healed super fast, she never even had to wear a cone or covering as she barley noticed it. Thank you Dr.Kathy and staff!
