How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Avian and Animal Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Wow, as a first time bird mom to a 5 week old cockatiel I have been an anxious wreck and this clinic helped me so much! Literally the best experience we could have asked for! We also loved nurse Kristy who took so much time with us to happily answer all of our questions and it was very clear that the health and happiness of our baby was her #1 priority! Dr. Zellner was a complete angel as well and I’m so relieved and grateful to have them as our vet! Thanks for everything!

Dr. Zeldnar and the whole staff rock. They were able to take my cat in for an antibiotic shot before normal business to ensure she could get it before the holiday. They are always so polite and professional. : )

Dr. Zellner is the best!! She really knows her stuff and is great with my 85lb pittie. She's also fantastic with exotics. I work in the veterinary field and I choose to go to her over anyone in the area!

We took our baby Guinea pig for his first checkup. The staff was amazing from the beginning to the end. The veterinarian assistants were so friendly and helpful and very thorough. The veterinarian was great also. We were impressed.

I love the vet at Avian and Animal but do to the loss of one of the doctors, the availability of appointments is limited. I understand this situation but in order to accommodate current clients, they may want to take less new patients. My exotics have been going there for years, my squirrel goes every 3 weeks for sedated teeth trims so her tooth does not grow through her skull. They can now not get her in for almost 2 months for a visit, so I have to find a new doctor. It makes me nervous to find a new doctor as my squirrel is elderly. I just feel that new clients should know that it will be extremely difficult to get timely visits and all clients are expendable.
