How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Flagler Animal Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance

They saved my boy!!! Great care! Great team! We got a same day emergency appointment and they were so understanding and helpful. My pup ended up needing surgery for a foreign body removal. My dad had to bring my dog for me since I am out of state, and they had great communication keeping me updated. Their prices are also very reasonable. But put the money aside they actually care for your pet and is for sure a place I trust to bring him back to. Thank You again Flagler Animal Hospital, I will forever be thankful for you and your team.

Use to be the best now the absolute Worst! Impossible to get an appointment. I’ve been taking my dogs to this vet for over 10 years. Once Dr. Tate left everything went downhill they don’t care about your animals. My dog has systemic prototheca diagnosed 5 yrs ago and has to be on meds for the rest of her life. They refuse to refill her meds without an appointment but an appointment is near impossible to get so you have to bring them into emergency which is also impossible to get. Ridiculous. Last year they told me that one of my dogs had 24 hrs to live and the humane thing to do was put her down asap. She lived for 1 yr and was happy, swimming not suffering. Do not use this vet. They will not help you they just charge the card….

I just got a new puppy, all my animals in the past have been rescues. The insight that I received from Both Skylar Dr. Alex and Kaitlin goes along way in helping raise a healthy happy pup. I recommend their services.

First time appointment and very, very happy with the service and patience for my questions. Prices are reasonable compared to our vet in Ohio. Got us in the same week which is great considering how many vets I called in the area that are not accepting new clients.

I have had golden retrievers that were patients at this office for over 7 years. It used to be a great facility when Dr Tate owned it. Now that NVA has taken over it has really gone into decline. We originally started with this office because they were a 24/7 hospital and open for emergencies, and because we loved Dr Tate, who we could depend on for his compassionate care. NOT ANYMORE. Dr Tate no longer see patients. He only performs surgeries. NVA now controls the practice and it and their staff is poor quality. We will no longer trust these people to care for our four legged family members. Recently, we were concerned that our 14 month old golden retriever was getting dehydrated in this high heat. At our recent appointment, they could not get the dog’s symptoms correct, and kept making up their own. They wanted to take X-rays before he was even examined. When I said I wanted him examined and wanted to talk to a vet first, they put us in an exam room that had dried feces on the floor, for over an hour. We were getting ready to leave when a vet came in. We told her we were leaving because we weren’t comfortable with their facility, and explained our concerns. She responded that “we were not going to be a good fit”. SHE WAS CORRECT! After we left we consulted someone who was a vet tech for 10 years, who advised us how to hydrate our dog and monitor him for 48 hours. He rebounded very quickly and was running around and eating, drinking and pooping normal within 12 hours. We felt there was a push for unnecessary X-rays, the staff was unprofessional and untrained, and did not want our dog lying on their floors, that were contaminated with feces and who knows what other germs. My best advice is to find another practice. IN REPLY TO THE RESPONSE BY THIS FACILITY: This reflects how they cannot get the facts correct! 1. We called the office to ask if we needed to bring our dog in and explained we were concerned about his dehydration. They told us they had an opening at 9:00, and we agreed to bring him in. NEVER WAS IT MENTIONED THAT THIS WAS "AN EMERGENCY". 2. Our dog DID NOT have an accident in the room while we were waiting. The dried feces was on the floor in the room prior to our arrival and we were placed in the filthy room and left to wait there for over an hour. When the vet came into the room, we pointed it out to her, and she apologized and said she "would talk to the girls about it". She clearly understood that it was there prior to our arrival and our concern was the sanitation of the facility. 3. When she came into the room, we asked if Dr. Tate still owned the practice, and she replied "No". When we asked who did, she replied "NVA, NationaL Veterinary Association". We loved Dr. Tate and were always very pleased with his care and compassion. Clearly this is NOT the same place it used to be.
