I can't say enough about how fantastic this clinic is. Dr. Dexter is awesome and compassionate. I was on vacation and had a minor emergency with my pup. I called, they got me a same day appt and took care of my Lolo. Then had a follow up later before our trip home. Thank you Dr. D. !!!!

The hardest thing you have to do owning a pet is saying goodbye. Dr. Ballard and His Amazing Staff made this whole process so much nicer than it could have ever been. Thank you so much to Island Animal Hospital and staff for all the kind words and everything over the last 10 years with my adopted boy Toby. We’ve been through a lot together. I wanted Toby’s goodbye to be as kind, loving and sweet as he was and they did not disappoint. My Heart Is Heavy but you have made things much better for our family. Mary P A long time patient of Island Animal Hospital.

The staff there are great, and especially Dr Ballard! He and the staff are very caring and thorough when I take my Cocker Spaniel, Sami, to see them. Honestly, the BEST veterinary service I've ever known!

The staff at Island Animal Hospital has always been very warm and welcoming. I have three dogs, three cats and one bird, and the veterinarians and techs all have done a wonderful job taking care of them. From regular check ups to illnesses, the staff does a great job of listening to my concerns and providing me with detailed and easy to understand explanations.

We recently adopted our adult Siamese kitty Coconut from a rescue in Gainesville but had no idea who to use for a vet here in Cape Canaveral. So I started asking around and several folks recommended Island Animal Hospital on Cocoa Beach, with one of my friends Cheryl specifically recommending Dr Ballard. Because Coco was a rescue we had minimal info on her other than she came from a shelter in Jax and from the vet there that she was 5 y/o and up to date on her vax and that she had mild dental disease, which we wanted to address right away. So off to the vet we went and it a fantastic experience! First of all we loved Dr Ballard! And our tech Kaysa was awesome too! He thought Coco may be younger than 5, and said her teeth were perfect!!! Not sure Coco felt the same way towards Dr Ballard and Kaysa though, as she definitely didn’t care for the thermometer stuck up her hiney hole 🤣😂. Dr Ballard was so patient & gentle yet thorough with the physical and we were so happy her teeth are good, (all that worry for nothing). Highly recommend Island Animal Hospital, the office is super clean with a very calming beach vibe, the staff attentive and professional and we couldn't have been any more pleased with the care our Coco received from them.
