How to Save Money at Morgan Veterinary Practice

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I went there for my old man, my Coco and for a unweaned litter dumped at my back door in an alley. I brought them to Florida because I felt this was their best chance at at loved life and not on the street. Dr Morgan and her team were very caring and supportive of my boy and my little hand fed kitties (4)

My boy had some issues come up during the weekend. Our regular vet clinic was open, but with only vet techs. My husband called Morgan's Veterinary practice, and they were able to give us an afternoon appt. The staff addressed all of my concerns and got all the necessary tests he needed to figure out what was going on. I absolutely loved this place and how we were treated. So much so that I kept Dr. Morgan as our new vet.

Dr Morgan is the best kind of vet. She's approachable, brilliant and kind. She cares about your pet and listens to your input. She never dismisses your opinion and works with you to find the best treatment options. My dog Ivy has been seeing Dr Morgan since her diagnosis with Addison's disease. Her treatment is a balancing act of medications and I attribute her health through the years to Dr Morgan's dedication to providing the best and most honest care. I am happy with my visit to Morgan Veterinary Practice. The rooms are bright and clean and I was seen promptly. Dr Morgan and her staff are the best!

I have taking all my fur babies here and I must say Cindy is beyond words the best vet I have ever dealt with. Between her honesty, empathy, love, and kindness my babies are beyond words taken care of. They go above and beyond to give to the animals and ensure they are fully taken care no matter the time of day/night or any circumstances preventing care. You could not ask for a better doctor to take care of your fur babies! I have what feels like the most high maintenance animals with some close calls that Doc caught before things got worse. She kept my first fur baby around for 3 more years with all of her health issues. My Roxy had a massive surgery due to having to remove her spleen from a tumor that engulfed it and almost bursted killing her that Doc caught right when brought to her. She also had CHF and held on with the help of Doc going above and beyond to ensure she was medicated and having a good quality of life. We adopted a momma kitty whom they took in that was abused and we took her home knowing she was pregnant! The night of the kittens birth Cindy stayed on the phone with me late at night during the birth at no charge to make sure I was comfortable and the babies and momma did good! What doctor would do that?! We have even had little incidents come up with my other pup and the momma cat that again I couldn’t ask for a more caring and compassionate team!!! On top of the crazy they are just so awesome with being patient and understanding with pricing that you could not get better treatment from anyone! I trust her more than anyone so much I drive over an hour to bring my animals to her. UPDATE: Now run by a new owner and veterinarian. We no longer live in the area and we’re sad to see Dr. Cindy leave the practice as she was incredible with ours and all others fur babies, but I still have high hopes for the new owners and wish them the best of luck!!
